My hotel was close to a Metromover station, and it was nice to use to get around downtown without hoofing it a lot. The service is free, and the use hours worked for me.
Perfect to visit downtown Miami, this metro is free: the little train give you a close look of the skyscrapers. Asked the people if you don't understand the loop system !
Took us a bit to get use to the flow of the metromover (inside, outside and one way loops) but once we did it saved us many $ in cab fares. Security was evident on the trains. I read in some of the other reviews that since this is a free service there are some undesirables using it but we saw Security moving these folks along.
If you want to see the downtown area of Miami and also the Brickell Ave. area, this is the way to do it. Up above the traffic in a self propelled electric car. Access through the Government Center Metro Mover Station at NW 1st & NW 1st Ave, Downtown. I believe they have WIFI.
We found it easier to use and to move around on the metromover. No complaints at all. Great to be able to have a bird's eye view of Miami.
