Was here for five days for a conference. The pros: All staff I encountered were very friendly. Golf carts were there to take you from the main lobby to your building, great since it rained every day and some buildings are a little bit of a walk. The bed was very comfortable, and my room was older but clean. During each meal, I was impressed that they managed to serve 500 people almost all at the same time, although the food was so-so. Lots of equipment in the free exercise room. Be sure to visit the "secret" adults-only pool. Cons: Temperature was not regulated very well in conference rooms. We were either freezing or burning up. There was no protein at breakfast--only fruit and pastries--so we were starving by lunch. This may have been the choice of the conference planners though. Prices at the hotel bar were ridiculous--a $15 margarita? Be sure to check your final room bill; mine had a few extra charges that were removed when I asked about them. I thought the $13/day Internet fee was excessive--not even wireless! I just saw these survey results from AH&LA: "wireless Internet access is in 91% of responding properties, and the number of hotels that charge for in-room Internet use is down to 16%." Since they already charge a lot for the room, Doral should get with the program and offer free WiFi across the property.
