“My Favorite Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

Cheen Huaye is hands down my favorite restaurant in Miami. Upscale mexican, it's more steaks and seafood than tacos, but still has the warm, family feel of a local taqueria. The restaurant will soon be expanding their dining area and serving breakfast. It's almost impossible to find mexican breakfast in Miami, so I'll be looking forward to the new expansion!

“Not worth the detour.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2011 via mobile

Based on the rating (#1) in tripadvisor we have decided to take a cab from South Beach to Cheen Huaye (a 30 min. ride and 40 $ ticket for one way). But there was nothing that really was above average. Food was ok. not more. The place has about 10 tables inside and 6 outside. At the outside tables you really feel like eating on Biscayne Blvd. Our recommendation: think twice before going thru the effort of getting there. You will not do it for the food.

“Simple, well done Yucatecan fare”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2011

We've been to Cheen-Huaye 3 or 4 times over the last year, including last night. They feature menu items typical of the Yucatan peninsula. The restaurant is small, clean, quaint - a relaxing atmosphere. In the past I've ordered various selections from the menu and have enjoyed every one. The Sopa de Lima, Ceviche de Dorado, and Cochinita Pibil are among my favorites. Last night, the server said they had a special - shrimp with a tequila lime sauce that was exquisite. The sauce was tangy, tasty and complemented the shrimp perfectly.

Nice, light Mexican meal - yummy!

“Exquisito!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2011 via mobile

Thanks to tripadvisor we went here. As mexicans, we are proud and happy to have this kind of restaurants. Not only to enjoy morover to show our rich southwestern food. The ceviche, different kinds of fish, the cochinita are delightful!. Service is great and the location is very easy to reach.... Los invito!
