“Amazing to see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2014 NEW

A very peaceful Monastery in Miami. Great gardens and gorgeous pictures too. There was quite a well documented history of the building and construction of the monastery and cloisters also.

“I'm not in Florida anymore! Piece of heaven, hidden treasure.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2014

If You you want a big grand, over the top tourist attraction this is not your place, try Vizcaya. If you want a sweet, peaceful, educational and serene attraction this is your place. Rich with history, beautifully maintained grounds and a place with a peaceful soul. It is small compared to other monastery's but just as beautiful or more. There is a hidden church inside that is quite breathtaking as well. The priest is a sweet man. Service on Sundays is amazing and they welcome anyone. Bring your camera if you come here, it's amazing for pictures. You will be shocked this place is actually in South Florida, a very pleasant surprise!

“Peaceful change of pace in SoFla!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2014

Had heard this was a must visit on the list of SoFla attractions. We spent the afternoon wandering thru the Cloister & quietly enjoying the peaceful solitude found in this historic site. It feels like a small slice of Europe & provides a glimpse of history to an area so very young in its own. Spend time in the center court checking out the statuary & looking for artistic detail in every corner. The gardens are a nice match for the Cloister, it's definitely worth the price of admission.

“Interesting History & Quick Education”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2014

Beautiful structure and statues, gardens are very pretty. It's a great stop for about 1 hour before or after you eat in or around the area of Calle Ocho. They have a great gift shop. Note if you have a short attention span this is perfect, quick, pretty and interesting.

“A relaxing hour or two”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

Over the many years I've lived in South Florida, the Monastery has been a place to share with friends, attend several weddings, and a place to read or meditate.
It's worth a visit for its historical and peaceful aura right within our local grasp.
