“Not much here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

This isn't a particularly scenic or serene place. It's tiny, as in REALLY tiny. It felt like visiting a wedding reception facility in a park. The gardens should be expanded. If you've been to any of the missions in California, or the Cloisters at the Met, this will be a real let down. We didn't feel like sitting and meditating anywhere, as it wasn't particularly conducive to that. 15 minutes in and out. We even asked if there were more. There wasn't. We were tragically disappointed.

“Peace and Serenity in Miami”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

We stumbled on this beautiful, peaceful Cloister in Miami Beach by seeing it advertised in the attractions booklet you can pick up in hotels. It has a very interesting story of how it came to be disassembled in Spain and reassembled in Miami. It is like being back in Europe - I have never seen anything like this in the States. There are a lot of antique artifacts in the visitor center including an interesting Pope's Cabinet from the 1600s. The gardens are very European looking and the Cloister is beautiful including the little chapel which is used for services.

“Step back in time.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

This Spanish Monastery was disassembled brought to US and re-assembled. Charming chapel for weddings and perfect courtyard for receptions. Very reasonably priced, but booked years in advance. Nice to visit for an afternoon browse.

“Peaceful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

The monastery was very peaceful and beautiful. Walking through the Cloister I felt like I was touring a church in Europe. It takes about 1.5 - 2 hrs to experience the building and gardens. I want to visit again and soak up more of the peace that swirls in the breeze under the arches.

“It's ok.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

I would recommend it only if you're near by and have some time to spare otherwise don't waste your time. The abbey has a well kept garden, some statues and an interesting architecture and that's it.
