“A short but interesting visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

The whole story about moving this part of the monastery to the US was fascinating and very courageous. We enjoyed the place and the story.

“Worth it if you have time on your hands”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

As a Miami resident, I think it's worth a visit at least once. I would not recommend it to a passing tourist though unless you stay for more than two weeks. The abbey has a nice garden, nice statues and in hot weather, the cloister is very welcome because it's both airy and covered. It's also a wonder in itself because each stone was transported from old Europe to Miami so it probably makes it the oldest building here, but it still fits very well in the landscape.

“Out of the way but interesting.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

Beautiful old buildings and beautiful grounds. Unique. This was a long way from downtown Miami. Check the opening hours. We got there just as it was closing at 2pm to be set up for a wedding.

“GOING TO SPAIN WITHOUT A PASSPORT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

OVER A THOUSAND YEARS OF HISTORY ! You don't need a passport to go to Spain its here in North Miami Beach . I can not believe this is a treasure that the Spanish lost and we got. It's like walking through the pages of a history book.. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. At the visitors center we were met by the priest who run the place and he gave us a small pre tour about the history and where this great treasure comes from which in in Segovia , Spain where we will be going next month. If you are in the area it should be at the top of your list. Parking is free and plentiful , and there beautiful garden to just relax and watch the world go by. The gift shop has cold drinks at very fair prices on a hot day too along with key chains and postcards
