“Historic gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2014 NEW

It sure was humid when we arrived but it was nice once we were inside the air conditioned mansion. It's not expensive to go inside and the area is so nice to enjoy a few hours here. Make sure to follow a guide because they will talk about interesting details that you will most likely miss.

“I just wish...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2014 NEW

The mansion is breathtaking, specially the surrounding area and the gardens. The rooms and the inside of the house is old and I am not a fan. But the views, location and gardens are spectacular. A most do in your trip to Miami.

“Nice Day Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2014 NEW

I took a day trip with my boyfriend and we had a great time. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the property. The cafe has really good chocolate chip cookies. The gardens were really nice but very muggy. Inside the house was beautiful and had a lot of great history. I think it would be nice if they update the video of the upstairs to maybe a virtual tour of the area with some iPads to make it more interactive for everyone. Overall a great place and I would go back again.

“A Pleasant Day at Vizcaya”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2014 NEW

We found this House and Gardens a very enjoyable place to visit.
It was the home of James Deering (Vice President of International Harvester). It was built between 1914 and 1916 and built to resemble Italian Baroque villas that he had visited.
Built on the shore of Biscayne Bay, it offers great views out over the water as well as a fantastic garden.
There is also a very reasonably priced Café/Restaurant which offers outside dining if required.
