“Beautiful Mansion in Coconut Grove”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Great reprieve from shopping and other activites! Takes about two hours to really do a full tour. We did the self-guided tour, but they also have tour guides if you would rather do it that way. One note: there are all these girls celebrating Quenceanera dressed in their poofy gowns who are turning 15 getting photos made. They seem to tie up every wrought iron gate and other scenic spot. My husband thought it charming, but it was a bit annoying that every time you wanted to go into another area you had to stop and wait until they were finished with the photos. I would give the vist an excellent rating if it weren't for the inconvenience of all that. I guess that's something that has been going on there forever, as they actually even have a segment of the tour where they talk about it. Other than that, a great place to visit.

“Don't Pass It Up!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

I was excited to have been staying so close to Vizcaya on my recent trip to Miami. I love beautiful architecture and landscaping. This does not disappoint! The gardens were gorgeous, and I liked that you had the option of exploring on your own or taking a guided tour.

“Gardens of the Robber Barons”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

A wonderful quiet villa/palace built, when Miami/S Fl was only a vague sanctuary. By a mid-west inventor of International Harvester. He boguht Biscayne Island because it was in his view line. Worth a visit!
