Visited the museum with my teenage son, not sure if there would be enough here to hold his interest, or whether it would be geared to a younger audience. We were both impressed with the exhibits! If your children enjoy hands-on learning, this is a great place to encourage that. In the hurricane Andrew exhibit hall, your kids can build a house and then see how it stands up to hurricane force winds to discover the best ways to keep a house/roof together during a big storm. There is a dance floor that lights up that allows you to learn about energy as you dance. There is an amazing wildlife area outside that I was surprised to see and thoroughly enjoyed. There were alligators, crocodiles, a bald eagle (sooo gorgeous!), golden eagle, birds of prey, turtles/tortoises, and even vultures! They have lego stations too if your children enjoy building. It's just a gem of a museum, and if you get a chance and are in the area, it's a nice way to spend some time with your kids. :)
