So let me preface this review with the disclaimer that I didn't bring any kids with me whom I'm sure would have enjoyed it much more than me. But that's really the story with most science museums and their collection of hands-on exhibits so even acknowledging that, I have to admit that it's still a poor example of a large metropolitan science museum. The size of the museum is small and several exhibits were broken, filthy or just plain uninteresting compared to what I've seen at other examples. Even the planetarium was a huge disappointment and it's rare that I don't enjoy a visit to a planetarium. The planetarium was littered with stains and spills from previous visitors and the young presentor had an annoying and awkward narration. The only highlight of what became a very quick visit was that we were accidentally charged for only one admission instead of two adults and we still spent too much money! Miami needs to give its cultural institutions much more funding and importance. It's sad that a city with so much money seems to spend all of its wealth on condos, yachts and restaurants rather than important cultural and learning institutions.
