If your downtown, this is a nice place to spend the night. I did not use any of restaurants or bars. Booked on hotwire last minuet got a great deal. Room was ok and I would stay again. Hotel looks shoddy from the outside

Dear ceosmsi,

Thank you for review of your quick visit!

You mention an interesting point about our exterior that so often surprises guests: Viceroy Miami features two very opposite design styles inside and out and the reason for this is simple: two very unique artists were involved. While Kelly Wearstler designed the hotel, Philippe Starck was the genius behind the powerful presence of the Moai statues that seem to be guarding the entrance of the hotel: at night if you look closely, some of them even seem to be staring at you directly !

Hopefully you can come back again soon and take advantage of our amenities for a few more days. We have some very good summer packages featuring spa specials for the summer.

Sincerely,
Laurence Dubey

I don't know what happened to this hotel. I've stayed here many times before and it was pretty good. Now, it's the 3rd consecutive day with a clogged toilet. This is unacceptable for a hotel that claims a certain level of service and charges for it. Don't even bother staying here. Try any of the good hotels around. This is definitely my last time.

Dear Alessandro J,

Thank you for your feedback.

Well, I certainly can appreciate your frustration on this matter as a simple adjustment on our part should have fixed this issue quickly!

Water efficiency and conservation, for which we received an Award last year by the Greater Miami & Beaches Hotel Association, is part of our second nature mission. We have multiple systems in place to limit energy consumption, one of them being water – the planet’s most precious resource.

I am disappointed that we did remedy this swiftly and will review our process in such situations with the Director of Engineering.

We hope that you will give us a chance again in the future.

Sincerely,
Laurence Dubey

I have mixed feelings about my stay in March. My husband and I only stay at the Four Seasons, we tried Epic once and hated it and decided to try Viceroy this time. We booked a one bedroom 1.5 bath suite at the Viceroy. Upon arrival everything was okay, valet is a little crazy and way too packed but the front desk crew was very nice to us. We checked in without a hitch and everything was fine until we opened the door to our room. We had some major issues with the room that we addressed right away, the manager sent up housekeeping and things were taken care of and we also received a $50 credit to the restaurant that we never used. The room was very nice so no complaints there. The pool area is gorgeous but you literally have to chase the sun if you like to tan, it moved behind buildings and much of the pool area gets shaded. The pool service was horrible, we tried to order drinks and food but could not find anyone to wave down so we ended up eating at Brickell. We went to the spa and it was really not clean, the spa jacuzzi literally had a film of dirt and hair balls on the water, I could not believe people were actuall in the water. Overall, we won't be staying here again, it's just not up to par to the Four Seasons.

Dear abkrm,

Thank you for your detailed review.

We appreciate that you took the time to share your experience with us.

You are correct, being surrounded by 3 large towers, there are times during the day when the sun creates larger shaded areas: I find this similarly difficult on the beach with the new high rise skylines that blocks the sun way before sunset time.

We have discussed your concern on the pool service with our Director of Food and Beverage and will be are adding more servers to support the continuing growth of visitors on our pool deck.
Regarding your valid concerns on the Spa, our Director of Wellness is looking into what happened during your visit as we have a strict pool cleaning schedule, especially on busy week ends.

Thank you and warm regards,
Laurence Dubey

As others have written, the service at this hotel is just terrible. Front desk rarely smiles and their demeanor comes off as if they do not care. Pool service is nonexistent. Room service is just as bad. I called twice to ask for ice and I never received it. At 7:00AM, I was woken up by room service delivering food to the wrong room.
The spa is amazing and so is the actual pool. Do yourself a favor and stay next door at the EPIC everything (besides the spa) is better!

This is not one of the main hotel chains, so I tend not to stay here.
However, I had to stay for a week in a couple of ocassions and got to like it.
The reception/lobby could be of a 2-star hotel, but the rooms are 5-stars.
There is an incredibly good swimming pool (if you like swimming, this is the best I have seen in any hotel in large cities so far). Must be close to 50m long, great water temperature, and not in much use early in the morning. Open from dawn to dusk.
Breakfast is good: there are some nice views if you like sitting outside.
The hotel is well located.
On the 50th floor there is a disco, so on weekend evenings you will see lineups of people dressed up to get in. If you are a guest at the hotel, you can skip the line and be admitted (apparently, not everybody that shows up does!).
Working desk in the bedroom was quite comfortable. Internet speed was good.

Dear Colesterol,

Well, thank you for the great review!
I am glad that you gave Viceroy a try when we you have so many other choices in the area.

Viceroy is still a smaller hotel company but all of our hotels have exceptional design and amenities: though no one else boasts the 15th floor pool deck which we share with Icon Brickell residents.
I imagine that you also went to the gym which is the biggest I have seen in a hotel and the Spa is one of Philippe Starck’s most spectacular piece of art!

Fifty Ultra lounge has exceptional views over the city and we do offer direct access to our hotel guests, provided they meet the lounge dress code of course!

It definitely seems that you did not miss a thing during your visit. We would love to welcome you back soon!

Sincerely,
Laurence Dubey

Very mixed opinion of this hotel which may just be a matter of personal taste and expectations.

Pros
Location and views are good
Clean
Rooms are good size and nicely furnished and decorated

Cons
Wifi is not free if you want to use more than one device per room, it unusual theses days to be charged for wifi anywhere especially at a hotel
No robes In the room, no extra pillows or bed covers, again just expected
constant soundtrack of dance music in the restaurant and pool deck although couldn't hear it in the rooms

Other thoughts
Lobby is too small, decor is tacky and ugly
Service hit and miss, the best were the valet guys the worst were the servers at the pool who walked around but didn't seem to be actually looking for who might like to place an order
The three days we stayed the pool deck was so windy it was hard to relax, you couldn't put a drink or book down or it would blow away, not the hotels fault of course but if it is a regular thing might need to be addressed as got more wind burned than tanned

All in all this hotel loves itself just a little too much and maybe it is just that we are Biltmore kind of people which is where we will stay in future

Dear Cow_Biscuits,

Thank you for your detailed review which is absolutely on target: Viceroy may at times be too much color, vibe and design for some of our guests who may prefer a more subdued environment for a Miami visit.

While we have many regular week end guests who thanked us for the additional pool DJ, our pool scene may be too lively if you are looking for complete relaxation.

Although Viceroy Miami was not “your preferred scene”, I would definitely recommend some of our other locations in Anguilla and St Lucia in the Caribbean and even Snowmass in Colorado that provide a completely different ambience and have been widely recognized over the years as some of the world’s most sought out retreats.

Dear Violet B,

I am so glad that you enjoyed your recent visit at Viceroy Miami.

We are very proud of our stylish urban boutique hotel: Kelly Wearstler designed rooms that never cease to amaze our guests who have rarely experienced such an artful mix of colors, design and practicality elsewhere.

We hope to see you again soon as more retail and restaurants continue to move to the Brickell area.
See you again soon,

Sincerely,
