“Beautiful Starck designed SPA”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

It's the Viceroy. It should be luxury and beauty, but I was a bit disappointed by the front desk services and the quality of the suite. Nevertheless, once complaining about it at the Spa, all the staff did everything possible to make us happy. We didn't change room, but get a free breakfast. The Spa is amazing and beautiful, not big enough and not really practical: swimming pools are way to small, but you can enjoy the beauty of Starck work and the view on the town. the outdoor swimming pool, specially at night is a dream! Vallet parcking quite expensive, but who cares, you're in town!

Dear Patrick M,

Thank you for your feedback!

I see that you loved the Starck design at the Spa which is truly spectacular. That water lounge with dipping hot and cold pools, the massive Murano glass chandelier and a surprising large library gives you a whole new Spa experience - unmatched in this city.

Most of our repeat guests are biased towards our guest room décor designed by renowned Icon Kelly Wearstler: it is very busy and colorful in a very happy way!

I See that you live in my hometown of Lausanne: nice to see some compatriots visiting us from this far away. I would love to meet you if your travels bring you back to Miami soon.

Thank you and warm regards,

This hotel is first class. I have stayed here on four separate occasions and am always pleased with the rooms and pool facilities. The balconies are a welcome addition although it would be great if there was a table and chairs included.
The kitchenette is useful and the decor exquisite.
One comment regarding the room lighting as I have yet to have a room where you can turn off the bedside lamp while in bed! But the hotel is conveniently located for Downtown and close to Bayside.
The bar and restaurant is expensive but there are plenty of restaurants close by.Staff are always helpful

Dear Mobycliff,

I am very thankful to read that you have stayed with us on four occasions! Your loyalty to Viceroy Miami is very impressive!

The timing of your comment regarding balcony furniture is so interesting as we are currently looking at adding a seating option for our balconies based on similar feedback from other guests. Our view of the Brickell drawbridge has become a favorite for many travelers: in Miami, we take it for granted or rather, we complain about it stopping traffic too often, but it is a night sight from many of our guestrooms.

We will continue to work with our engineering team to improve on our guest rooms functionality: it is all about the details!

We hope to see you again soon! Thank you for choosing Viceroy for your Miami Home away from Home!

The Viceroy is a beautiful hotel, but it's missing the details that luxury properties this price usually consider. First off, the junior suite I stayed in had a strange washroom layout. There were no towel racks anywhere, so I was forced to hang towels over the tub. Secondly, when I entered the room, I found an old XL Gap price tag on the floor, which I assumed belonged to the guest before me. It just made me question how well sanitized the room was overall before entering. Thirdly, the free wifi at the hotel was horrible, and the paid computers at the business centre was a costly $6 for every 15 minutes.

Some of the redeeming things about this hotel include the luxurious pool and beautiful spa. I've been to a lot of spas around the world, but the appearance of their library-esque spa takes the cake in terms of appearance. The cleanliness of the spa pool was a bit sketchy though. If you get into the hot tub, you'll notice a black brim over the hot tub of hair and other bodily residuals. Also, while I was getting my massage (ask for Nelson, he was great) at the spa, my friend who waited for me by sitting around by the pool noticed a younger woman give a larger older man a hand job in the hot tub. Once the couple "finished", they quickly left (this was the hot tub closer to the windows, FYI). I'm not sure how often these hot tubs are cleaned, but I'm hoping at the very least daily.

The other redeeming quality of this hotel was the gym. The gym was huge, fully outfitted, and had plenty of equipment for everybody. It was never too busy either.

Room Tip: I was on the 6th floor and heard honking ALL day and night (think NYC ground-floor time square durin...

Dear Victort,

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed account of your experience.

I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the Spa which is our most exceptional feature. You were fortunate to have a treatment with Nelson: he is one of our super stars and gets booked up very fast!

Your comments and concerns about the pool are very fair and please rest assured that – like most other luxury hotels - we have a detailed and rigorous cleaning protocol at the Spa – including all pools – some of it happening after hours for minimal guest disturbance

While we love for our guests to fully enjoy their vacation, we strive to ensure that one guest’s fun is not imposing on another: when those situations are brought to our attention, we will always address and diffuse to maintain a pleasant environment for all.

Warm regards and come back to see us again next winter to escape colder Vancouver weather!

Beautiful views, amazing pool area, spa was simply gorgeous. Fitness center was impressive. Rooftop club, with pool. Beautiful views from outdoor restaurant located close to the pool. Excellent location in the Downtown/Brickell area. We stayed in one of the residencies, rented by owner, and was absolutely perfect, had everything you will need to have a perfect weekend.

Dear Yanira R.

Thank you for your review.

I was very pleased to read that you enjoyed the comfort and spectacular views of one of our residences. We have a very unique rental program for guests who want to stay a little longer than a few days as we offer weekly and monthly leases or simply want the practicality of a full size kitchen with a luxury residential feel.

We look forward to welcome you back very soon,

We only stayed at the Viceroy for one night before cruising out of the port the following day. The room we had was very nice, and included a pretty awesome view from the balcony. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was really nice. The room included everything we needed, including complementary coffee the following morning (even though the room card said there was a charge). There was also a microwave to reheat our late night pizza for breakfast the next morning before heading to the port.

The hotel is located in an awesome area, and there is a lot of cool stuff within walking distance. We didn't stray too far since we were tired from traveling and wanted to be fresh on our first cruise day. We did end up eating at Cipriani which is in the same building complex. The rooftop pools were very large and awesome looking, but we didn't have a chance to take a swim. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant, but we did get several drinks from the bar. The happy hour prices were great, but it was a steep increase afterwards. The bartender hooked us up with premium liquors because of the price difference. We don't regret that bill one bit!

We didn't have to use the service much, but someone did stop by and offer us fresh towels and ice. We ordered a late night pizza, and they called us when they arrived. They also made sure we had a taxi to the port. I just called down to the front desk 10 minutes before we were ready to leave.

Overall this is an awesome hotel, just a little bit pricey!

Dear cewhatley,

Thank you so much for sharing this detailed review after your short stay with us !

We are very fortunate to have a few tempting dining options on property for dinner: 15th and Vine, Cipriani and a brand new Mexican restaurant opening soon.

We thank you for selecting Viceroy Miami for your pre cruise Miami stay. So many other cruise enthusiasts choose our hotel because of our unique closeness to the harbor and of our fantastic leisure amenities right in the heart of the city !

When you get tired of the Texas heat, come and enjoy a swim in the longest roof top infinity pool in Florida! We will take great care of you, you may not want to leave again !

Sincerely,

Dear JBale3822,

Thank you for sharing some of your impressions of your stay at Viceroy Miami.
While we are located downtown Miami, we are lucky to be situated next to Biscayne Bay which provides a more interesting and relaxing setting. The Brickell skyline has evolved over the past 5 years and now parallels some of the most interesting cities in North America.

We look forward to welcome you back soon. Warm regards,

loved the location, appearance and theme of the hotel. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in for a while, the room facilities were excellent - especially the coffee. The room had an iron, board, hairdresser and lovely shower gel, shampoo, conditioner etc. the hotel was quiet and all in all pleasant. I didn't eat at the hotel as I found the restaurants quite pricey considering there are so many great restaurants nearby. The only slight irritation with my room was it was slightly too small for the furniture, so i kept bumping into the bed.

Dear chocoholicBangkok,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience about your latest business stay with us.
We sincerely value small details that can assist us in our quest to touch the heart and soul of every guest!

Our rooms are beautifully appointed and were meant to give this residential feel rather than a commercial hotel experience. In doing so, we do have a lot of superb furniture pieces in the guestrooms designed by Kelly Wearstler. While we love to showcase her art but will definitely pay more attention to the layout of each category during our next walk throughs. Thank you for bringing this to our attention !

We just launched a new dinner menu at 15th and Vine where you can try 3 small plates for $15 and 5 for $20 : hopefully you will be able to try it and give us your impression on your next visit to Miami!

Warm regards,
