“Great experience ever!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago via mobile

I came to this hotel for a little anniversary get away with my husband and to be honest it was the greatest experience I've had by far! Julissa was the one that took care of us from the moment we called to make the reservation to our stay. She has amazing customer service skills and is very attentive!! She is by far one of the biggest reason as to why our stay was so amazing and one of the biggest reasons for us to come back!! Great job guys!!

Lovely spacious appartment with balcony. Probably one of the nicest rooms I've stayed in. The metro mover stops nearby which is free so makes it easy to get around if u don't have a car. Staff were ok not overly helpful otherwise would have rated it higher.

Situated across the street from The Four Seasons Hotel, the two are worlds apart. The best that can be said about The Fortune House is that is offers excellent value for the price. Don't expect anything fancy in terms of room furnishings and decor, and you won't be disappointed. The rooms are apartment size with all the usual amenities thereof. But the interior decorators and purchasing staff have succeeded in finding the thinnest sheets and shower curtains. Instead of a luggage rack, feel free to put your suitcase on the open ironing board in the walk-in closet which by the way has the flimsiest plastic hangers I've ever seen. If you weigh more than 120 lbs., don't try sitting on the chairs on the balcony. The wall art is an affront to the word "art." That said, it was pretty clean, sink and shower worked well, only one light bulb needed to be replaced, and heated swimming pool was a delight.

This is my second time here. I loved the first time we stayed here in dec, this time not so much. The room is a joke outdated and ripped up furniture. 19 inch tv in the living room and a computer 13 Computer monitoring to the side bedroom. No way is 4 star! Never again! We stay in downtown Miami for business all the time. This is by far the worst I have seen. The staff is the only good thing about this stay.

We recently stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo at this location. There was a futon in the living room and dining table by the kitchen. The views of the bay off the balcony were absolutely amazing. The pool and hot tub were nice to have in January and neither were very crowded. The gym was by far one of the nicest hotel gyms I have seen. All employees were friendly and helpful.

The restaurant/bar seems to be of in need of some improvement. I attempted to order room service and was told I had to pick it up. I really didn't have a problem with it, but the bagel I got was rock hard and nearly impossible to eat. A friend of mine tried to order a bloody mary from the bar one afternoon and was told to come back later because the bartender didn't know how to make one.

Room Tip: I would definitely request bayside on the highest level possible.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2014

I was definitely hesitant to stay at this place because of the very mixed reviews. But for the reasonable mid-week price and location, it was irresistible. For $185 I got a 2BR, 2BA fully-furnishes apartment -- full kitchen with beautiful countertop and bar stools, dining table and chairs, balcony overlooking the bay, even a walk-in-closet in the master bedroom that leads to the bathroom with double-showerheads.

I was blown away.

Everything in the room was spotless and new. It was beyond perfect, and I could not believe the value. I wanted to move into that apartment.

Outside of the apt was a slightly different story. The lobby is clean & charming, but the service is VERY lacking. The front desk was not always staffed and those who worked the front were not professional. They weren't rude, but it did not feel right. I'll list out my thoughts below:

PRO's:
- huge & gorgeous apt that you can honestly live in.
- great mid-week price; overall FANTASTIC value (especially considering that most hotels in Miami run around $400/night)
- pool & gym available
- great view of the water

CON's:
- lackluster service staff
- the lobby & hallway smelled funny
- they had an elevator that was under construction but was still in service?!? It felt completely unsafe.
- All doors use traditional metal keys, which can get stuck & jammed. I had to get another set of keys and slam my door to get it open.
