We spent only one night at the Epic before boarding a Celebrity cruise ship at the Port of Miami, but what a great experience it was! We were on the 29th floor, with spectacular views of downtown Miami and (surprise!) the port! We had access to the business-class lounge on 29, which made the entire stay very special, with happy hour in the afternoon and breakfast selections in the morning. The wine tasting in the lobby, while good, did not compare to the club visit. The hotel itself is modern and quite grand, with a majestic lobby. The pool/spa area is wonderful and spacious. The room with a balcony was large, with a surprising open connection between the bathroom and the bedroom, which made soaking in the extra-large tub very pleasant. There is a drop-down shade for privacy, if desired. We appreciated the large flat-screen TV and free wi-fi. The hotel was an easy walk to Bayside Marketplace/Mall with lots of interesting shops and restaurants. We also discovered a bus to take us to South Beach that night for dinner on Lincoln Road. Eating outside in January was quite a treat! We almost missed the return bus, so watch the schedule. All in all, we were extremely impressed with the Epic and will certainly stay there again before and/or after any cruise out of Miami.
