“The Club Floor is Worth the Extra Money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Last year when I was in Miami for a meeting, I stayed at the Viceroy. The whole time I was there, I would look across the channel at the Epic and regret that I had not decided to stay there instead.

I made good of my regrets this year with a short one-night stay at the Epic using some Amex points. It was so much better than the Viceroy from most all perspectives. And I was very glad I spent the extra points to stay on the Club Floor - and I would encourage you to do the same!

First, the lobby is more like a real hotel lobby (whereas the Viceroy is small and not that inviting). Check in was very fast, and they gave us our cards to the Club Floor. The beautiful yachts tied up along the Epic only adds to the specialness of the place - as do the exotic Miami cars valeted around the guest arrival outside.

We stayed in the 950sqft one-room suite on the 29th floor. The view of the water was spectacular, and the balcony was massive. The room was very clean, comfortable and well-appointed.

The Club itself on the Club Level really takes the cake, however. FIVE different offerings of food throughout the day - and not just crummy finger foods they heated up out of a package - but REAL food. All of it complimentary. Complimentary drinks of whatever you want as well. The concierge was extremely kind and helpful, and mixed us up whatever drinks we wanted. Why go to the hotel bar when you can just stay in the Club and eat / drink there for free?

We ate at Zuma, which was very good, and enjoyed our time there. But the quietness of the Club was too good and kept us coming back.

Room Tip: The Club Level is a MUST! Spend the extra money and bask in the "complimentary" amenities...

Thanks so much for sharing the great experience you had with our hotel especially the Club floor.
Our views from the upper floors are truly breath taking. Great food coupled with drinks and a super personalized service, that's what our club floor is about and we want to thank you again for sharing.
Please come back soon. EPIC wishes

note the valet service during a rush is a nightmare as is getting to this property. They need to hire a valet maanger from a Vegas property in order to eliminate the horrible wait/queue.

Great Resteraunts and really helpful staff once you get inside.

Room Tip: pick an upper floor away from the draw bridge, Cars going over the bridge create an explosion in yo...

Thanks for your honest feedback. I am glad you enjoyed the restaurant and our helpful staff.
EPIC is a much sought out destination for both the hotel, our Spa and the restaurants. It does create a lot of traffic and we are constantly striving to create the best valet experience. Sorry about the wait you had encountered. We are looking forward to having you back.

A few days ago I spend some days in the Miami EPIC Hotel.
I went to Miami in a business travel.
I reccommed this hotel because the nice views and the extraordinary location. Practically is a new hotel and all the areas are in a good shape.

In the other hand, the standar room is ok, simply ok. I spend there two nigths and there is no nigth service, you know, the service where they open the bed, change the towells and put the slippers and the small rug in one side of the bed.

I did not use the pool but is spectacular. Please take advantage of that facility.

The balance for me is positive, and when I go back to Miami I will consider to stay in EPIC Hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in a hi floor with Brickell Avenue view

Beautiful view of the bay and location is excellent, walking distance to fine dining and downtown miami. if you like running or walking take your excersise equipment with you since the hotel surroundings are great for that. The service is outstanding, room comfortable at is best, bathroom big and extraordinary. Big flat TV, coffee in room, free high speed Internet (have to enroll for free in their loyalty program). The restaurant in first floor excellent and a place to see and be seeing, have to make reservations. Valet parking and lots of luxury cars around.
If you have the budget, indulge yourself in this great hotel in a great location.

Room Tip: All rooms are extraordinary

This was our first stay at a Kimpton Hotel and will not be our last. Our room had a beautiful view of the Bay, a large well-appointed bathroom, and comfy bed. The amenities were just what we had hoped they would be with one exception-the pool heaters were not working and the water was very cold. We were told they were being fixed, but on our second day we talked to the Front Office Manager, Seth. He was kind and apologetic. We were more than compensated for our disappointment in not being able to use the pool during our stay.
All of the personnel were very friendly and accommodating, but Seth really impressed us with his great customer service.

Room Tip: As high as possible facing the water.

I stayed here for a weekend during the ING Miami Marathon. It was a great location for the race, just a short walk to the star/finish line. However, if you're on vacation you probably want to stay closer to the beach. The hotel looks brand new, is very clean and the rooms are really comfortable. We had a great view of the water from our balcony.

We are currently staying at this amazing hotel, the building itself is fantastic and great location. the room is awesome there are no faults in this area! however we have encountered a catalogue of errors since check in. Firstly after a long drive from Orlando and being very excited about staying at this hotel as we certainly had paid a top rate we were looking forward to relaxing and being looked after however our room was not ready and we had to wait nearly 3 hours!! we were unable to go far as they were unsure how long it would be before it became available. we were very kindly upgraded to a junior suite which is absolutely luxurious and faultless, definitely worth the wait. Alexandra on reception was very friendly and so helpful a great asset to the hotel.

we decided to have an early night in our lovely room but were woken at 11.45pm by room service knocking the door then calling the phone trying to deliver us a complementary bottle of champagne!! Don't get us wrong we would have been grateful for this but it felt very strange to be woken up so late to be given this. We called reception quite disorientated about this only to be spoken to very rudely by Felix who couldn't understand why we were unhappy about being woken up and only concerned with if we wanted the champagne!! in the morning we explained to Julianne on reception who was not forthcoming with any apology but just gave us a hotel credit to use!! again we are very grateful for this as we can have a meal in the lovely restaurant but where was the apology for being woken up? we have 2 days left and i really hope we can enjoy this hotel as we were so looking forward to without all the little errors that are being made like not arranging our coffee maker we requested before checking in then when we did have this we were given 1 mug between us?! silly little things that seem trivial but this type of issue in this calibre of hotel should not be happening. Breakfast in the hotel is great really good choice and lovely environment however our coffee and juice was cleared from the table when we went to get fruit so had to be given another table and order another coffee.

Come on Epic your better than this!!

Based on our experience which could be just a one off, im not sure if i could recommend the hotel but i will say the hotel itself is AMAZING and the view from the room is fantastic.

Room Tip: request a high floor for the view.
