The hotel was ideally located, beautifully decorated and staffed with helpful, efficient people. They were helpful in finding me a pharmacy for my cold and the Fairchild Tropical Gardens. They were also helpful on the phone in making reservations and deciding to rent a car vs. use taxis.

The happy hour and dinner were very nice, and it was great not to have to go out, since I was recovering from a cold. The breakfast, on the other hand, was pre-cooked.

The Hotel Indigo is a small, well situated property. The rooms were very clean and had a fresh, bright decor. We stayed there for three weeks while dealing with some medical issues at South Miami Hospital. We were given a special rate for this reason and a mini fridge and microwave which we requested were put in our room free of charge. The hotel offers a special rate for persons who are using the Baptist Hospitals. There is a free shuttle that will take you anywhere within a three mile radius. This includes Dadeland Mall, The Falls and many other stores. The staff were extremely accommodating. The only issue we had was that the hotel was quite noisy, you could hear people in the next room or hallway. Also, the windows did not open in the room, but there is a nice courtyard or pool area where you can relax outside.

This hotel could be a real nice place. The front lobby is very nice and well decorated except the lobby lounge chairs need cleaning. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel maintenace appears to not be kept up. I stayed on the second floor and the carpet in the hallway was very dirty and large black marks on it. Our room had an open junction box in the wall that had not been properly covered up after the installaion of a fire alarm. The coffee mugs in our room had black sludge in them and it was evident that they had not been cleaned. There also was hair in the bathroom sink. The room was nicely furnished though and the beds were confortable. The televison was a 36" flat panel but there was no Hi-Def service (One of my pet peeves). Also a very limited channel line-up. With a little effort, this could be a great place to stay.

I booked this hotel because of a 24h layover in Miami and I wanted to stay close to Dadeland mall, I did not rent a car and I specifically searched for a walking distance hotel from the mall; big mistake, it is relatively close to the mall but there is no way you can walk on that road! It would be a 10-15 minutes walk but on a road with no sidewalks or anything. I am the adventurous kind and I don't mind making a little effort to avoid a super expensive miami taxi... But no way I could have walk there! Something else i did not like about the hotel is the first impression, you step in and there is the restaurant just next to the reception, which would be ok, but the smell .. Ugh the smell is like fried oil... I did not like it at all. Also wifi connection is so poor, I had o stand on the edge of the bed to get some, and still on and off.
A good thing is the staff, the kindest! Both night and morning shift, really really nice people.
