“Awesome SoFlo Zoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

I know what you are thinking, i've been to so many Zoo's I could throw up! Well if you haven't been to the Miami Zoo then you are missing out. This is one of the largest Zoo's you'll see. It's spread out across a huge area just west of Miami. From Antelopes Zebras you'll see it all at this awesome SoFlo Zoo.

“It's Okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

I grew up going to the Bronx Zoo so of course I would compare every zoo to it. They have the usual animals to see here. They have an air conditioned small building that shows a huge interesting dead snake which I believe was a pyton. Also beautiful blue/gray butterflies framed. Then there are bones of animals there as well. Bathrooms located on the side of that building. They built a new water play park for kids last year and that was the highlight for the kids. They have a cushioned ground so they can safely play. We had a one year family pass but didn't return. They do have activites through out the year that must be fun to attend though.

“Early morning is best time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Great zoo, lots of animals. We went in rig when they opened and the animals were all so active, plus it wasn't too hot. When its really hot , the animals tend to sleep more and are not so active. Definitely buy tickets online for a small discount.

“awesome for the price!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

It was such a great zoo. the price was great too. would definitely recommend to anyone. it was a lot to do in one day but we got there early so we had plenty of time. if you are going to go I recommend going early so you don't run out of time to see it all.

“Too much for one day!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

A great zoo, but there is no way to see everything in one day - if you are touring with a 3-1/2 year old. Buy a monorail pass, it's worth it just to get a break from walking. And it's air conditioned. My little guy actually took a nap in the monorail for about an hour - 2 full trips around the park.

If you have kids, bring bathing suits, and be prepared to spend some time in the splash park. It's a ton of fun for kids from 1 to about 11 or 12. Two families I talked to came to the zoo just for the water park.

The giraffe feeding looked cool, but it was so crowded that we didn't even try. All in all, the animals were mostly sleeping, but it's a zoo, they really don't have much else to do.

Summary: a nice zoo, pretty and clean, and really spread out. The highlight for my son was probably the splash park, and the monorail - but I really enjoyed the animals...
