“One of the best Hotels near the airport”

Our stay was great. We had minor issues with our reservation but overall, everything was good. The location, the room was very clean. The Hotel employees very friendly. Near the miami airport there are many, hotels that are like 30-40 years old and need to be renovated and they charge the same as this nice hotel. We managed to get a good price for a good stay. The only minor downside is that in the day time an AA plane flies over the hotel like every 5 mins. But what can you do? you are really near the airport so you just have to deal with it.

I found this hotel to be nice and clean, but the workers were not as friendly as I would have expected. I actually felt a bit like an "outsider" for being an English speaking American, which is a first for me. Promised shuttle transport to cruise ship port turned out to only be a 1-way trip. I needed to ("find my own ride back to the hotel"), which I was not informed of at reservation time.

We had a problem in the check in - the girl from reception didnt find our reservation - so we had to wait for a while - and it was stressful - but the manager came and gave us a quick resolution and we were glad ! The place is confortable - rooms are big enough for our bags and us. Staff are friendly To get there we had some problem - because its really hard find by GPS ! Free parking !

Bar and Food service staff were good. Neighbors in room and hallway were noisy. Alarm clock and remote control had a layer of filth all over them. Alarm clock time was 12 hours off and there was no way to change it. Airplanes fly directly over the hotel at all hours. it's like staying on the Airport grounds.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall it was a great experience. We were able to check in 2 hours early. They waived the $50 early check in fee. We each got a complimentary bottle of water in a gift bag and our room keys. Everybody that we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. Our suite was nice and clean and the king size bed was comfortable. The only negative is the Suite is very small! It had a small front room with couch, chair, desk, TV, fridge, and microwave. It also had a Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom is in the middle and the bedroom is in the back. Everything was nice, just small. For the price, the suite should be bigger.

Room Tip: Don't waste your money on the Suite. It is very small.

The staff is very attentive. Rooms were very clean. The television didn't work at that moment of our stay. The food is simple but allright. It's far from downtown and that is less easy for shopping but very convenient if you wish to be in a relaxed ambience. I would surely go back in particular if I would be a transit airflight passenger.

We stayed at the HGI/MAW for the night before and after a cruise out of the Port of Miami. The HGI/MAW is conveniently located to the Airport and the hotel offers a free shuttle back and forth. The room price was excellent for 3 adults and the hotel has a restaurant. We called the hotel upon arrival at the airport and the shuttle arrived in about 20 minutes. The hotel will also assist in setting up a one way transfer ($12 per person) to the Port of Miami for cruisers (a very helpful service). We took a cab back upon our return (about $35).

Of note, the staff at this location were especially friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. They assisted with several different aspects of our trip and were great to work with.

The room is HGI standard, with a microwave and mini-fridge, desk, soft chair, dresser and flat screen TV. The bathroom seemed a bit dated and could have used some sprucing up. We noticed that there had been a leak or water problem where water had flowed out of the bathroom and across the carpet outside the bathroom door. The carpet was still pretty damp, not soaked but because we were so tired, had already unpacked, and were leaving at 5 a.m. next day, we chose to endure.

I spoke to the front desk staff when we departed, reminding them that we were coming back and noting that the carpet outside the bathroom was damp. The staff assured me that they would take care of the room and us, upon our return.

When we returned after our cruise, the front desk staff remembered us and noted that we would be offered vouchers for a meal in the restaurant and some Hilton Honors bonus points for our previous inconvenience. The staff also upgraded us to a junior suite when our room was not ready on time. Unbelievable guest recovery.

The meal at the hotel was fine. HGI restaurant fare, which came hot and well-prepared. Service at the restaurant was very good.

The hotel also offers a free shuttle to the large local mall (Dolphin Mall) which this writer will review separately.
