“Classic Italian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

Il Gabbiano is a classic fine italian dine in town.
Staff is always there, the place is beautiful but not a wow!!! Views are amazing indeed out there in the balcone!
Cellar has a comprehensive wine range and of course the food is great.
Worth the experience.

“A place many concierge sent you to, but dont go”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Il gabbiano looks like a typical italian but food is rather fast food american style. Waiters want to kick you out quickly and the pasta is very heavy. Prior to appetizers they serve rather old bred. The only rel good thing is the parmesan cheese they serve upfront.sorry but no reason for me to go again.

“Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Once you find the place, you're in for a treat. (The restaurant really should put driving directions on their website, it's not easy to find if you're not a local. Google Maps will get you close, but not close enough).

After we got settled in everything was wonderful. You're provided with bruschetta as soon as you sit down, then a small wedge of parm and balsamic reduction and bread. Almost enough to fill up on, it's all very good. Our meals were outstanding, the dessert excellent and the complimentary Limoncello to cap off the evening was a nice finishing touch. The service was old school, which was exemplary.

Ask for a table outside and watch the boats come and go. All in all, a wonderful evening.

“Delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013 via mobile

Service, food, atmosphere and presentation was all wonderful. Great place to celebrate a special occasion or to host an important business dinner. Try the octopus... Wine list is fabulous too.

“Expensive but worth it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

The moment you walk in you know you are in for a treat. This place is very expensive but the food is fabulous. If you are looking for a casual meal this is not the place to go however if you are looking for a special place for a special occasion this is it. The view is fantastic, the service is superb, and the food is delicious. But you are going to pay for it. They gave us a complimentary piece of Parmesan cheese and bruchetta. I had the lobster ravioli and it was excellent. The wine selection is fantastic. My husband had the rack of lamb and it was made to perfection. The next time I have something to celebrate this will be my to go place. Treat yourself and go dine.
