Dinner for four on Saturday, Nov 30 at 7PM. Dining room was 3/4 full and was empty by the time we left.
Two people ordered the grouper (catch of the day) and commented how bland the preparation was.
One person ordered the seafood risotto, which had NO seafood in the risotto, as the seafood was placed on top of the rice instead of being cooked with it. Tasty and pretty, but did not impart a seafood flavor in the rice. Risotto was topped with 5" mini carrots, also pretty but looked out of place for a risotto.
The fourth person had the fried seafood platter (large chunk of haddock), two medium scallops, and a few medium shrimp). This was the best dish of the night...flavorful breading, sweet scallops (although meager in count and size), not greasy at all.
Side dishes included roasted veggies which were very fresh but not really roasted in flavor, baked potato with soggy skin and served with little portion packs of ice-cold butter which cooled the potato immediately, and delicious whipped potatoes. Bread was soft-squishy commercial slightly sweet bread served with ice-cold butter which tore up the bread when spread.
Menu did not offer ANY local fish except the grouper special. Salmon and haddock were the only other fish on the menu, neither local to anywhere near Florida. There was no expected "sampler plate" of grilled or broiled fish, only fried. Other offerings included steaks and salads, not tried by anyone in our party.
Service was casual and friendly.
