I took my wife here about a year ago. She and I both like an occasional good steak. Looking at their website and enu, it looked good. Their radio commercial sounded promising.
If you have dined at a good steak or chop house in NYC or Chicago or Miami or Orlando for that matter - and thus have something to compare this to you will feel that you just ate at the McDonalds of Steak Houses.
When my wife and I went on a date night, we were expecting a nice meal out. What we got was rude and indifferent service by people who did not seem to care whatsoever and who appeared to have no oversight - the death of a restaurant. They seemingly meandered about, gossipped, hung out, played, and occasionally remembered, "oh yeah, the middle aged people are still out there..."
The potatoes au gratin was a strangely prepared cold mess, as was the creamed spinach. Part of the steak was burned and another part underdone. I could elaborate further yet I believe I painted a clear picture.
We would never have gone back except there was a business dinner we were invited to recently (where we did not pay) that was scheduled at this venue. I asked the person who made the choice why they chose the place. They replied, "I heard its the best steakhouse in town." I asked this person if she had ever dined here personally. She replied "No." I asked her if the person who told her it was the best steakhouse in town had ever dined here. She replied "No. I can't remember where I heard it but at least its close..."
OK, perhaps things have improved. I'm game.
No, no improvement. All was as I had remembered it.
Again, in this economy, how does this plod on. I simply do not get it.
