“Enjoyed the Suite and the view, sleep number bed horrible.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2010

If the bed that came with the Suite had been anything but a sleep number, I would have had very little to complain about, not the worst bed I've ever slept on, but in the top five. The furniture in the room was good for the most part, a few dings, but thats to be expected. I thought it was decorated nicely. One electrical outlet and one lamp did not work, and the toilet in the bathroom had a loose seat , also seemed loose period, not fun. One of the nicest aspects of the room was the separate living area, with couch, tables and a desk, also had a nice bar area, we did not stay long enough to really use the microwave, also getting to step out of the sliding glass door to the balcony, and enjoy the great view was very nice. Also I loved the soap they provided. We had breakfast in the restaurant one morning, we were a few minutes early and they were nice enough to accomodate us with out having to wait. Also the buffet had a good selection of items. The pool looked clean, though I did not swim in it. There was a Winn Dixie and a Wallmart close by, not as many restaurants as I expected . I thought for the price the room was good, eventually when they change the horrible mattresses for the great ones other hotels are using,, there won't be much to complain about.

This is the second straight year for my family and I to stay at the Radisson. This year Spring Break, last year was around January prior to a cruise.

I have to say that I really like this place. I mean - it's starting to show it's wrinkles (built in 1986) but you can tell they work hard to keep it up.

I was lucky enough to get a room on the second floor, so that waiting for elevators (a bit slow at times when the hotel is busy) is negated with easy use of the stairs. Also - half of the second room floors have an enclosed hallway entrance (most of the rooms exit to hallways that face away from the ocean and are not enclosed).

What I like about this area in general is that it's not the crazy set of folks that you see alot more in Cocoa Beach for example. We drove up there last week and it was a zoo with Spring Breakers. Drive another 45 mins south towards the Radisson and it's a whole different vibe . Much more relaxed.

I see myself as a bit of a 42 year old prude sometimes, hesitant to stay at certain places (especially with my kids) for fear the place won't be clean enough, etc... Rest assured you should feel good bringing the clan for a nice relaxing beach stay.

We were very pleased with The Radisson Suites on our recent anniversary trip. Hotel is very clean, staff plesant and accomodating. Oceanfront property with balconies (balconies are not private). Would like to have seen the pool bar open with pool/beach towels offered. Room service prices were reasonable and quick service. Parking is free, close and convenient. Non-allergenic bedding was offered and we were pleased with our stay. There is a Wal-Mart across the street and CVS and other outlets near-by. For shopping and a variety of restaurants will have to drive out but, it is in a nice quiet location. If we return to Melbourne we will definately stay at this hotel again.

Stayed for a 3 day weekend and were very happy with the choice. As said in previous reviews, the hotel is RIGHT on the ocean. We kept the doors open and were lulled to sleep by the crashing waves each night. Location can't be beat - on one side you have miles of pristine beach. On the other side, you can walk to everything you need (Walmart, restaurants, grocery store, etc).

We read all the prior reviews before heading down and were a bit nervous about the maintenance of the hotel. While there were definitely some cracks in the paster, some furniture past its prime and an outdated bathroom, they were minor issues when compared with the HUGE two-room suite and great balcony.

We found the staff to be quite nice and helpful. The restaurant (Lena's) was small but the waitress was very attentive and the food was fine. The pool was also small but did the trick for a quick dip. The bartender at the pool bar was very friendly.

All in all, as long as you realize that this isn't the Ritz Carlton, you should be very happy at this hotel.

All rooms look onto Ocean. I had a suite, I think it is an all suite hotel. Suite means a separate sitting room, a kitchenette, no utensils, and bedroom/ bathroom. Great balcony.
The only dining option looks pretty uninviting but I ended up eating there both evenings and the staff and food were way above expectations. Breakfast wasn't too bad either and made better as I was fiven a voucher for it. Pool looked nice and was heated though weather was far too cold to swim.

Other than its location on the beach, the Radisson has little to distinguish itself from any other 30 year old, non-renovated hotel. The entrances to all rooms (with the exception of the handicap-accessible one I first received) open to an exterior walkway. The doors are set back several feet in poorly illuminated recesses that made me feel uneasy. This concern was only exacerbated when I opened my door to find a pitch black room (the curtains were completely drawn) with no nearby light switch.

Once inside, I was struck by the dated furnishings and an overwhelming “hospital” or nursing home smell. Upon closer inspection, I noted separating baseboard, stained carpeting and deteriorating laminate doors. While my Wi-Fi signal was strong and free, don’t expect a flat screen TV or even static free reception on the small tube sets. As for the bath, my health club has thicker towels, better soap, cleaner tile and nicer showers.

The fitness center is located on the 15th floor and offers a panoramic ocean view and two flat-screen, low definition televisions. Unfortunately, these do little to distract from the limited, well-worn and marginally operational machines. The center was obviously once a lounge with remnants of a bar situated in a corner. Be sure to bring your own towel as the one I used had obviously been recently doused with Fantastic or another institutional cleanser.

Perhaps this facility is considered nice for the area. In my estimation, however, it’s well past its prime and in likely jeopardy of losing its affiliation to the extent not a company-owned property.

From check-in to departure, this hotel went beyond all we could have hoped for!! Christopher at the front desk( solved any issue superbly), Andy in the dining room(outstanding food! ), Ben in the Bar..( best marguerita I ever had!! ).professional, warm, experts at what they do- made all delightful for us!!!
THis is a great place! REALLY quiet rooms except for the incredible waves on the shore, beautiful, quiet part of the expansive beach (though plenty to watch..fishing, surfing, pelicans!!
Great Thrift shops ALL over (one right across the street in Catholic Church)
Squid Lips restaurant with Coconut Shrimp-delicious Also "early bird" at Bonefish Willy's!
