“Beautiful location and rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2008

It is a beautiful hotel on the beach. It was wonderful to open the 2 sliding glass doors and hear the waves. The rooms were in great shape and the in-room refrigerator and microwave came in very handy.

The staff was cordial but not overly friendly. They did respond quickly to a locked safe from a previous visitor and the bartender was quick to help with a stuck cork in a wine bottle that we had brought with us.

I couldn't understand why they charged me 50 cents for a newspaper when I was paying almost $200 for the room.

We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant and it was just okay. $9 for buffet.

I would recommend highly that you stay here, but they should shape up a little bit.

Attending a wedding on Feb 16 stayed from feb-13-17 over the Holiday Weekend. What a wonderful place. Staff was attentive. Wonderful views and the area has allot to do. We stayed in a family suite. It felt like a small oceanfront apartment. Plenty of room for a family of 4. I did take a ride to Disney and its a long ride from this area. I do not suggest staying and going to disney from this location.
The service in the dinning room was very slow. They do not have a morning coffee station and charged in the morning for a fresh cup. The rooms did offer a small pot. so to each his own.
With the in room refrig. and a grocery store less then a mile away makes this a perfect beach hotel. Eat in don't worry and the waiter is fantastic and personal. What a great place. Also we had breakfast down the street at the The bluberry muffin Breakfast place. The food was fantastic.
They offer Wi Fi=computer access in all rooms. They did not offer jet skiing or that many beach activities more of a quite location.

Here is the bottom line in this hotel. All the rooms are suites in that you get a living room and bedroom. What makes it outstanding is that each room has a large balcony with entrances from both the living room and bed room that overlooks the ocean. The hotel is right on the beach so from your balcony you can sit and watch the surf, smell the ocean breeze and look up an down the coast for 20 miles of unobstructed view. This balcony just made it for me.l I spent hours sitting on it enjoying the view, reading the paper and drinking coffee. What a place!
The hotel is across the street from a Friendly Ice Cram Shop which serves food but watch out for their ice cream creations. It is great. There are also many other restaurants within a mile and a Wal-Mart. For this reason I did not eat in the hotel.
I would stay at this hotel again in an instant

This hotel was fabulous! The hotel staff was very courteous. It was an added plus that working for the government allowed for an affordable rate. We stayed in a suite that was to die for. It was not the fanciest that I have stayed at. However, it was spacious with a great dining space. Plus, it had wonderful views of the ocean. As though that was not enough, they have those wonderful Radisson Sleep Number beds. Considering all the variables, my husband and I were able to relax in style.

I really appreciated that it was one of the few places that had wireless internet. I had used this time to get away and get to work. I take my studies from the library to four star hotels. Go figure! Believe it or not, it helps, and I was able to catch up. Then again, I was not the only person staying there who was there for both business and pleasure. Really, it served as both a business hotel and beach condo.

Nearby there are some great seafood restaurants. There is one that serves excellent whiting. The seafood tastes as though you were transported right into the Northeast. I asked the wait staff if the chefs were from the Northeast. They explained that some former owners were. When you get a chance, it would be worthwhile to check the restaurant out. It wasn't far from the hotel, and it had excellent views of the water.

Whatever you decide, for a business traveler, the Radisson is an excellent investment. In today's age, it is too important to remain somewhat attached to the real world. Who's to say that you can't enjoy the beach at the same time?

Have a good trip!

This hotel is beautiful. All the employees we encountered were helpful, friendly and pleasant. We ordered room service a couple times and it arrived promptly and was very delicious. The view was spectacular; the balcony was very nice to sit on and enjoy the view. The only negative thing was the sleep number bed. My husband and I are probably the only people to not like it, but we didn't. We found it very uncomfortable, like sleeping on two water beds or air mattresses pushed together. We could feel the space between the two chambers. Whether we had it firm, soft or in between, it was just too uncomfortable. We spent the remainder of our stay on the sofa bed which was only marginally better. I would stay here again if the hotel offered regular mattresses in some of the rooms because other than that, our stay was exceptionally pleasant.

Prior to a cruise which left from Port Canaveral, we spent 3 nights at the Radission Oceanfront Suites in Melbourne, Florida (August 23, 2007 - August 26, 2007). The hotel is gorgeous and entirely renovated after suffering hurricane damage several years ago. Our stay was very peaceful and uncrowded; there were times when we had the pool/jacuzzi and multi-level decking all to ourselves, or shared it with just one or two other families. We ordered the poolside lunch one day, and it was excellent!

Although we loved the hotel itself, and we highly recommend it, we are not likely to choose it again because the ocean was too rough for swimming and the beach was more suitable for surfers. As well, the location is a mostly residential area, so there isn’t much to see or do nearby. On the plus side, Walmart is located across the street, where we were able to purchase snacks and beverages to stock our suite’s kitchen. Friendly’s (which has a wonderful weekday breakfast special) and a few other inexpensive family-style restaurants are conveniently located across the street too. We drove up to Cocoa Beach each night for dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant, A New York Pizza House, located on Rt 520 and A1A, diagonally across from Ron Jon’s Surf Shop.

  • Liked — Beautiful hotel and grounds, service, oceanfront location
  • Disliked — Beach not suitable for swimming; residential location - not much to do in the vicinity

My family of 4 stayed here for 2 nights before boarding a cruise ship in Port Canaveral (only about 20 minutes away). We were on the 6th floor with a suite that had two rooms and two bunk beds in a small hallway that was perfect for our teenagers. The rooms were spacious and clean and the bedding comfortable. We did miss having a DVD player and had to go to great measures to hook up a portable one. The burgers and fish sandwich are good at the pool bar. There was a noisy group next to us and the management was kind enough to provide a free breakfast for our inconvenience. It was only mildly annoying as the hotel is solid built. The only bad drawback to this place was that the beautiful beach right in front of the hotel has a long narrow rock formation near where the waves were crashing. A real drag for my skim boarder and boogie boarder. However, Sebastion Inlet Beach, our favorite beach in the US, is only about 15 minutes south. We had a very pleasant experience, overall and would definitely stay there again.
