This hotel is so tired it should have been put to sleep. Malfunctioning lifts, ice machines and in one building no balconies for hundreds of rooms despite marketing itself as a beach hotel. Sitting in a walk way anyone can walk past isn't exactly the way I choose to relax on vacation, but it's either that or be trapped in a room with no ocean facing windows anyone can see into. We were also given a room with two tiny double beds despite being clearly a couple at check in. Hotel was booked well enough in advance this should have been accommodated. Hotel needs to be painted and more secure, someone almost forced their way into our room overnight. It's the kind of hotel you see in movies where people go to have affairs or be in a horror film. Avoid.

This hotel, while decent, in the grand rankings of IHG properties, definitely falls into the "Holiday Inn" category, not anything in the quality of a "Crowne Plaza". While some/most of the rooms have been renovated/refreshed, there are still fundamental issues with plumbing that will take more than just a refresh to fix. More like ripping out and replacing. The hotel buffet breakfast is fairly blah, after a while one gets tired of seeing the same things over and over and over again, there's no variety. For location, the property is right on the beachline with excellent beach access, and has great ocean views. The bar has live music some nights, and while the music is very loudly heard in the rooms all throughout the property, they usually shut it down by 9pm so one can generally get to sleep without issues. Finally, the hotel internet access royally bites. Just ran a speedtest, getting 1.9Mbps download, 0.06Mbps upload. Yeah, big fail there. As this is a preferred property of one of my employers, I have to stay here in spite of these failings. Whee.

Room tip: North tower generally seems to be more well renovated than the south tower.

Stayed one night for a last minute getaway. Rooms were clean but a little old. Had a great view of the beach from our balcony even though we were on the north side of the hotel. Staff was friendly and courteous. The hotel is right on the beach, the back patio is 50 feet from the water.

Spent 3 nights here for onsite conference. Location is great and is a short drive from some good dining places. Was able to check in really early but ended up with a room in the South tower with the outside room doors. I hate these ones because you can never leave your window blinds open, unless you like people walking by a show! Also there were a lot of the bugs that come out this time of year, so at night you had to shoo them off door before rushing into your room. The bugs are harmless but i don't want them in the room.
Rooms are OK, but bathtub has seen better days. Could only get a small amount of the water diverted to the shower head and rest went to the tub section. Great for rinsing for your feet! Room was equipped with a separate dehumidifier unit and when both A/C and it were working it was too loud to watch TV or sleep. I usually crank up A/C while out of the room and then shut it down for the night. This worked here and room stayed cool enough for the night that I could sleep with both units off.
Breakfast buffet is very small and basic, but eating on the ocean facing deck makes up for the quantity of choices.
Gym is basic as well and only has free weights for strength training.
First time I experienced a line up for the men's facilities. We were a big group filling up the main room and on breaks we found that the number of bathrooms is limited. I now appreciate what my wife goes through at most public events!!

Room tip: North tower, where lobby is located will give you an indoor hallway to your room door.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We take all guest comments and opinions very seriously as it will help us improve the quality and services we offer our guests. I hope that you will stay with us again and perhaps booking a coastal view or oceanfront view will give you the private balcony to better suit your needs. Thank you again for the review.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The views and access to the ocean was the best you could find. Our room was clean when we arrived. Even though we asked for our room to be cleaned when we went out the 2nd day, no one cleaned our room. The food at the restaurant was great, however the service was lacking because of poor scheduling (it was during spring break and they didn't have enough servers working). I would stay here again in the future because of the location, however I would probably eat elsewhere.

Stayed here for a long weekend (Thursday-Sunday) for a wedding/getaway.
This was a great hotel but I would not classify it as a "resort".
We were able to check in early and was given a nicely appointed room on the 4th floor.
The room was spacious with a comfortable king sized bed, sitting chair and foot stool and a desk. It also had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. We are rewards card holders and we were able to get free coffee (hot and iced) all day every day!! We would get our coffee and sit on the balcony and enjoy the sun.

The resturant is overpriced and service is SO SLOW!!! I asked a server if we could sit outside and get service - he advised to just sit down and someone will come out. We sat down at 1115 and we did not get service until 1140!!!!! We were going to eat breakfast but by the time we got menus decided we would eat lunch. We ordered 2 sandwhich es with waters and our bill was $30. We do not mind paying that price for food when the service warrants the price....clearly the service was not $30 service!
We decided to go to the store (publix and Walmart within a 6 min drive) and get some food items for breakfast as well as snacks.

My next gripe is the fact that it cost $35 to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella every day!
There were plenty of chairs and space on the beach and do not think you should be charge those prices to hotel guests!!! We are from out of town and therefore did not have any other option...we only rented chairs and an umbrella one day. The beach towels that the hotel give you are hardly large enough to layout lay on so you are forced to go to the pool. The pool is a nice area that gets great sun! The only thing is, there are only about 7-10 lounge chairs and the rest are just regular chairs! Not nearly enough chairs to accommodate a full hotel!

Overall, this is a great hotel that could use some "fine tuning".
We would return due to the comfortable room and beachfront access.
