“Nice for working”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Spent 3 nights here for onsite conference. Location is great and is a short drive from some good dining places. Was able to check in really early but ended up with a room in the South tower with the outside room doors. I hate these ones because you can never leave your window blinds open, unless you like people walking by a show! Also there were a lot of the bugs that come out this time of year, so at night you had to shoo them off door before rushing into your room. The bugs are harmless but i don't want them in the room.
Rooms are OK, but bathtub has seen better days. Could only get a small amount of the water diverted to the shower head and rest went to the tub section. Great for rinsing for your feet! Room was equipped with a separate dehumidifier unit and when both A/C and it were working it was too loud to watch TV or sleep. I usually crank up A/C while out of the room and then shut it down for the night. This worked here and room stayed cool enough for the night that I could sleep with both units off.
Breakfast buffet is very small and basic, but eating on the ocean facing deck makes up for the quantity of choices.
Gym is basic as well and only has free weights for strength training.
First time I experienced a line up for the men's facilities. We were a big group filling up the main room and on breaks we found that the number of bathrooms is limited. I now appreciate what my wife goes through at most public events!!

Room Tip: North tower, where lobby is located will give you an indoor hallway to your room door.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The views and access to the ocean was the best you could find. Our room was clean when we arrived. Even though we asked for our room to be cleaned when we went out the 2nd day, no one cleaned our room. The food at the restaurant was great, however the service was lacking because of poor scheduling (it was during spring break and they didn't have enough servers working). I would stay here again in the future because of the location, however I would probably eat elsewhere.

Room Tip: ocean view

Stayed here for a long weekend (Thursday-Sunday) for a wedding/getaway.
This was a great hotel but I would not classify it as a "resort".
We were able to check in early and was given a nicely appointed room on the 4th floor.
The room was spacious with a comfortable king sized bed, sitting chair and foot stool and a desk. It also had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. We are rewards card holders and we were able to get free coffee (hot and iced) all day every day!! We would get our coffee and sit on the balcony and enjoy the sun.

The resturant is overpriced and service is SO SLOW!!! I asked a server if we could sit outside and get service - he advised to just sit down and someone will come out. We sat down at 1115 and we did not get service until 1140!!!!! We were going to eat breakfast but by the time we got menus decided we would eat lunch. We ordered 2 sandwhich es with waters and our bill was $30. We do not mind paying that price for food when the service warrants the price....clearly the service was not $30 service!
We decided to go to the store (publix and Walmart within a 6 min drive) and get some food items for breakfast as well as snacks.

My next gripe is the fact that it cost $35 to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella every day!
There were plenty of chairs and space on the beach and do not think you should be charge those prices to hotel guests!!! We are from out of town and therefore did not have any other option...we only rented chairs and an umbrella one day. The beach towels that the hotel give you are hardly large enough to layout lay on so you are forced to go to the pool. The pool is a nice area that gets great sun! The only thing is, there are only about 7-10 lounge chairs and the rest are just regular chairs! Not nearly enough chairs to accommodate a full hotel!

Overall, this is a great hotel that could use some "fine tuning".
We would return due to the comfortable room and beachfront access.

We had to find accommodations immediately due to a flood in our house. Luckily, the Crowne had a room for us. The room was in the older building but was clean, though needing a facelift. The beds were comfortable. We had early morning coffee in the lobby before we headed home for clean-up duty and returned in the early evening, exhausted, to sleep. We didn't eat at the hotel. Ours was not a vacation so what I didn't like was actually out of their (the hotels) control. The hotel happened to be crowded with lots of vacationers who let their children run, screaming, by the room after we had collapsed in bed. Spring breakers were visiting back & forth from room to room, sharing their beer. Lots of laughing & loud talking in the hallway, slamming doors, plus we could hear the music from the lounge until we slept with the TV on to drown it out. We did not call Security because by the time we were jolted awake a few times each evening, the offending parties had moved on. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Just wish we were on vacation so we could have enjoyed the hotel and ocean.

I was booked for the wrong night and when I arrived, there were no rooms. John and Rachel did an unbelievable job of getting a room that was not available cleaned and ready. Then they helped my wife and I get settled in our room. I wish I could get this type of service at other hotels. My wife and I want to thank them for going out of their way to make my stay enjoyable.

Lobby looks great and is right on the beach. Pools were cold. They say it stays at 80 degrees. False. The hot tub was crowded, because we were all shivering in the actual pool area. There are rocks in the ocean, we had to walk 1/4 mile to our right so kids could use their boards for waves. There were stains on the headboard, quite small rooms, and while the staff was nice, the guy who finally brought up the cot didn't say one word to us after an hour wait. The chocolate in the Gilwins fudge shop, tasted stale. Stay here if you have no expectations of crowne plaza.

Stayed the weekend for Easter on the beach. We were looking forward to brunch prior to checking out after a nice relaxing weekend. Typically Easter brunch is one of the most extravagant of the year, but not year. There were some nice selections such as eggs benedict (my favorite) there were many notable omissions such as scrambled eggs, pancakes, waffles, french toast, omelet station and smoked salmon (another favorite). It's confusing since these items are always favorites and the least expensive to provide.

The kids were starving after church, but only had fruit, bacon and dessert. We asked for scrambled eggs for them, but were simply told it was unavailable. For $35 we each had one plate and 3 mimosas at $6 each. The upside was an exceptional dessert table.

Room Tip: High floor
