“Comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed there for a long weekend for a class reunion. The hotel itself was pleasant and staff was great. The room was comfortable and the private balcony was lovely, as well. The bed was nice and comfortable as were the pillows. The bathroom was well appointed however the toiletries were sparse. I did love that the shampoo and conditioner did not have any parabens or SLS, so that was a lovely touch. I wish that they had a dispenser like the Best Western had in Venice, FL. There was available room service and the prices seemed standard although we did not use the service. The room was near the end of the building but you easily heard what the neighbors were watching on TV as well as the footsteps on your ceiling. We were on the 7th out of 8 floors. Not the quietest, so bring ear plugs.
Overall, a nice room, nice view and friendly staff.

Room Tip: Bring earplugs.

We just returned from a very relaxing stay at Melbourne Beach's Crowne Plaza. The staff tries HARD to please. Right off the bat, as IHG loyalty members,we were upgraded from a standard room to an oversized king w/ sofa bed/coastal view. This is more than your typical beachfront hotel. The Crowne Plaza is an older property but it has been very well maintained and recently refreshed. The main attraction is the outstanding deck. It's h.u.g.e. You will find a well-stocked bar, a restaurant, a water sports rental hut and a swimming pool/hot tub area. new resin wicker furniture throughout with real cushions. Free wifi is available all over the property. There is free coffee in the morning so get up early, hit the deck with a cup and watch the sun rise. This morning there were probably 15 or 20 silently watching the beauty explode! The beach is wide and sandy. The only thing we did not like about the beach in this area was the fact that there are submerged rocks...big ones... that would be easy to bust a toe...or worse...on. So be careful if you swim. The place is very popular with local surfers when the waves are large, like they were this weekend. One final thing, the icing on the cake if you will...the Crowne Plaza offers beach rentals. We rented two chaise lounges (plastic of course...everyone has them) for $10 each/day. Personally, I think beachside hotels everywhere should just give them to their guests for day use. Oh well, it's not a perfect world. As I was saying...the 'icing on the cake'; food and drink beach service. we didn't move an inch to eat or drink while we were on the beach enjoying the breeze, sand and waves! When you rent a lounger, they give you an orange flag on a pole. You want something? just stick the flag upright in the sand. Along comes Kelly (she was great!) or whoever else is on staff. She will take your order and bring it to you, run a tab for you and charge it to your room. We've been to beaches in some Florida counties that have banned alcoholic beverages due to the partying throngs. Not in Melbourne Beach.Feel free to unwind and relax! Check out the IHG website and I think you'll be please with their prices too. We didn't eat at the restaurant while we were there so cannot comment on the food quality. each room comes with a microwave oven and a refrigerator. if you need more plates, cups, utensils etc...just call room service who is very prompt and courteous.

Room Tip: Join IHG rewards for free room upgrades (based on availability)!

The hotel is nice with an ocean front restaurant and rooms. It has a pool and a direct access to the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was somewhat small and the beds were too softly, we got backache, and the washbowl was also small full of things.

We had a terrace and we were able to see dolphins right out of the room.

Overall we had a great time in the hotel, enjoyed the service and the location.

I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed this hotel. We were terribly impressed with the cleaness of the room. We did not venture into the pool or hottub but did observe that the pool was clear to the bottom. The hottub did look like someone needed to check the ph but when we saw it, it was early morning and people were busy doing housecleaning of the area so could be that they just had not got to it yet......if you want a romanctic place on the beach go somewhere else but if you enjoy people watching and seeing children play with family fun, then this is your place to go.

Melbourne Beach, Florida is truly a piece of paradise and this hotel is the perfect place to enjoy it. The location of the hotel can't be beat, it is just a short walk to Lou's Blues, a fantastic place to grab some food and drinks. The quality of your view at this hotel is largely dependent upon your room location, the higher the room, the better. This part of the beach is very quiet and well kept. Rooms are clean, quiet and have everything you need. We have visited this hotel half a dozen times and will continue to return!

I spent two nights here recently while on business. I had a King room with a partial ocean view. Check-in was quick and easy. My room, on the 7th floor, was on the small side but enough room for a single person. The bathroom was also on the small side. The room featured a walk-out balcony which was nice. The room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Flat screen tv with a nice selection of channels. The room also included a refrigerator which I always appreciate. It did a great job of keeping a few sodas and bottles of water nice and cold. There was an ice machine on the floor near the elevators, but I didn't use it during my stay. On my arrival night I had a light dinner and a drink in the restaurant bar. Decent menu with typical bar food offerings, and a few pages of drink options. Nice atmosphere, there were a few tvs inside, and several tables on the patio. Interestingly the patio was dark even though there were several people seated. I learned this was due to the nesting sea turtles on the beaches, and the impact lighting can have on the newborn turtles ability to find their way to the water. The food in the restaurant was good and tasty, and served quickly. I also had breakfast in the same restaurant on both mornings. The buffet was good with typical options and a couple of surprises. The prime rib hash was very good. One morning they had an omelet station set up, which is always a nice touch. Service was a little slow one morning, but fine the other morning. Coffee was good, but one morning it wasn't quite as hot as it should have been. The hotel had several large meeting rooms, and I believe there was a party going on in one of the rooms on one night, perhaps a wedding party. There was a business center and a confectionary / chocolate shop, but I didn't visit either one. Overall, this is a nice place to stay in Melbourne, with a nice on-the-beach location. The hotel is a little older, but offers all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. However, I think the hotel's strongest selling point is the staff - everyone I interacted with was very friendly and welcoming, and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We were in Melbourne for a High School reunion and chose to stay at the Crowne Plaza Melbourne. Very pleasant experience. Room was fresh and clean with a nice balcony. The staff very friendly and the pool area and outdoor bar excellent. Just a few steps from the beach. Afternoon live music and a great crowd. We will return.
