“Nature at your fingertips!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2012

You want to see dolphins? manatees? turtles? rays? surfers? boats? tropical plants? sea birds? and more? This is the place! The whole area is surprisingly quiet--not full of rowdy tourists, disrespectful drivers, etc. We were there for a week and could've stayed indefinitely. LOVED IT!

“Manatees and Waves”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2012

There are two parts of this state park: the inlet cove and the beach.

Want to swim with wild gentle manatees? Cove

Want wicked waves? Beach

“Love the sandbar at the Inlet!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2012

This is an area just off the boat launching area, and accessible by boat. It's a great area where even the littlest kids can splash around and find all kinds of sea creatures (crabs, starfish, fish) in clean, cool water from the inlet. It can get loud with boats tying up and partiers later in the day, so be warned, especially around major holidays, but most of the time it's fun to bring the family and set up your shade tent and soak your beach chair into the cool inlet waters and chillax.

“A Beach for all ages!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2012

First of all, there is a fee of $8.00 per car since it is a state park - but it was worth every cent !!! Second of all, the NORTH side of the inlet has more to do/see than the south side. (However, there is a camp ground on the south side.) The children especially enjoyed the "lagoon" on the north side of the inlet. Often there are manatees nibbling the algae on the ropes, and on this particular day at low tide, the manatees swam into the lagoon and let the children pet them! They are very friendly! There is a law/fine for "molesting, harassing, and harming the manatees", but the manatees actually swam to the children. We brought small nets and the children had such fun turning over rocks and catching crabs, small fish, snails, etc. to put in their buckets. One mother commented that it was like science class at the beach!
We also spent hours on the jetty watching the fishermen catch all sorts of fish and other sea creatures! Meanwhile, the pelicans provide some delightful humor eyeing the tasty catches! We also saw manatees and dolphins swim in the Inlet.
The beach is full of phenomenal surfers catching those proverbial waves. On occasion, there are surfing contests being broadcasted. The beach is open to regular swimmers as well - or just to sit in your chair and catch a quick nap in the Florida sun!
Sebastian Inlet (north side) has restrooms, changing rooms, and is currently renovating their restaurant.
GREAT DAY TRIP !!!
