“Nice Museum and Great Maritime Views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2012

If you are visiting the area and are looking for an interesting 60-90 minute activity, the museum and walkways are a nice option. You can learn about the region and take short walks that put you right next to the rolling tide. Great access for the elderly or physically impaired.

“Had the beach all to myself.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2012

The beach was great everyday I went. I spent a few weeks in the area and preferred this end of the beach to Wabasso. The drive here is itself scenic and full of beautiful homes. The crowd here was generally older gentlemen fishing, some young guys surfing and no one was on the beach except small patches of friends that looked college aged and older women reading. I found the sand soft and clean the further from the inlet you go. There are only facilities by the parking lot so be aware. The water can be very rough and windy, but I found that refreshing and enjoyable, being from the North East wild beach weather is normal for me. The water quality depends on the weather. If it recently rained the water will be browner and full of sea weed as the river water affects the quality. I was lucky to experience a perfectly still day and the water was a clear green by the coast and a royal blue further out. This is not an ideal swimming beach, but great if you are looking for solitude and want a shot of having a beach all to yourself, perfect to read, birdwatch and go for very long walks.

“Have you ever seen a river flow into the sea?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2012

With stunning views and a fascinating opportunity to watch the Indian River flow into the ocean, this is a setting not to miss. Wade in the tidal pools, surf or watch the surfers, and see fishermen fighting the currents. Beautiful.
