“Great place to enjoy the beach life”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

My wife and I gave been here twice.
Now, it's not upscale at all, but clean and right on the beach and amazing views from your patio.
If you want to beach it for a week - this is ideal!,
Umbrellas and chairs are extra, but way worth the money to have reserved every day.
The kitchen has all you need to cook whatever.
There are two buildings - offset with one closer to the beach.
We'd go back for the money.

Room Tip: Get the tower closer to the ocean for the view. Publix is just down the road for grocery

Well kept grounds, and rooms. The beach has white sand and shells for the picking, but get up early for the best, selection. At sun set take a walk on the beach and let your problems set away with the sun.
The staff are helpful and willing to make your stay the best...

There are good things about this property that made it a nice vacation. This hotel is beach front with an easy walk to the beach. The beach chair rentals and umbrellas was "reasonable" at $105 per week that included two cushioned loungers and umbrella (compared to some locations that charge $35-50 per day). If you are HGVC owner the kayaks, paddle boards, and Hobie cats are free to use. They will even take you sailing on the Hobie for free if you are not familiar with sailing. The property is beautifully landscaped and maintained. The pool is clean and newer. A huge outdoor grill to use was very nice too. No restaurant or bar on site so stop at the grocery store to stock up before you check in. There is also a 7-11 across the street and a group of restaurants within walking distance. There is no liquor store close by so if you like your cocktail with sunsets, stock up! I was surprised to not find a pool bar here.

The beach is gorgeous with lots of shells and white sand. The Gulf of Mexico water was very warm, close to 90 degrees.

The room itself was OK, comfortable and homey. The master bedroom was large and had the standard comfortable "Hilton style" bed. That made me happy. The master bathroom was clean but on the cheaper side with plastic shower insert and weird shower doors. I liked the huge walk-in closet with safe and hooks on the wall. Larger sliders opened to double balcony with table, chairs and loungers. The second bedroom and bathroom was very disappointing and not the Hilton standard, more like Motel 8. The beds had old dated bedspreads and a sheet, that's all. Old (really old!) weird blankets were in the closet if you didn't want to use the bedspread for warmth. There was black mold growing in ceiling, the room was tiny with just enough room to walk around beds and an old tube TV crowded the small dresser. The beds were twin size and the room was really small, I'm not sure how this unit accommodates 4-6 adults? Important if you're traveling with a group - This unit only sleeps 4 unless you want to use the pull out in the living room. The second bathroom was old and small with a weird drop ceiling that made a loud vacuum sound every time you opened the bathroom door.

The kitchen was OK, but not what I have experienced in other HGVC properties. Granite counters were cheap, very standard white cabinets and appliances. Nice dining area with large table, a dated but well used bar area, and comfortable living area. Tile floors in DR and Kitchen were OK but the grout had never been cleaned and stained black in most areas. Huge balcony was nice, however if you are in the south building (further away from beach), the north building partially blocks your water view if you are in the corner room (we were room 204 corner room). There is no mid-week maid service and if you want clean towels or sheets you need to bring them down to housekeeping on Tue and Thurs between 9 and 10 AM only. There is a washer and dryer but they are very small and can only accommodate two beach towels at a time.

The good and bad....the place has so much potential but when I travel using my HGVC points it's usually with family and or group of friends and we need that extra space. For that reason I would not return as the bedroom space does not meet our expectations. If you're just a couple traveling or family with two young children then it be OK.

Room Tip: Level one and two will not give you a beach view in South Building. The North building partially bl...

Been here twice now and I absolutely love the place. Nice rooms, great pool area and a very short walk to the best beaches in Florida. Staff was so helpful during check-in. Short walk across the street to some great restaurants and nice shops. You almost don't even need a car to get around. Marco Island is my favorite place to go and has been for some time now.

We look forward to going there year after year. We've been going there for the last 8 years. We're from Chicago and I can tell you that there's no place we look so forward to going to like Marco Island and staying at our condo on the top floor corner unit overlooking the Gulf and the Spectacular sunsets. It's breathtaking and quite an experience day after day.

The view of the Gulf from up top is amazing, from watching the occasional Dolphins playing early in the morning to getting a great scan of the whole stretch of shoreline along Marco. Its AWESOME. Staff is great, Grill is excellent, Grounds are well maintained/kept. Condo floor plans are very comfortable & spacious- wet bar, kitchen area with dishwasher and granite counter tops. Great master bedroom with view of the Gulf just feet away from the big balcony( our corner unit has a wrap around balcony-nice). although not nearly as new as the pricier buildings along Collier Blvd. but from I can tell you, this resort and our building sits closer to the beach than any other buildings and that is what makes this place better than most.

There's a 4 screen movie theater right across the street where you can even order food and eat while watching the movie, and lots of restaurants that are and offer a variety of flavors for every taste bud. We love to leave the sliding glass doors open to our bedroom at night to listen to the waters as the surf come in and goes back out.

And speaking of the sounds of the surf, make sure to enjoy the view of the Gulf at night. When the moon is out ,the light stretches out over the whole view but its best when there is no moon and on a clear night you'll see millions of stars that take your breath away especially when you catch a glimpse of shooting stars( and you will see many at times shooting across the universe)

The countdown is on!!! 10 days and counting...... Hope this helps and you enjoy it as much as we do.

Room Tip: The North Building overlooks the beach. rooms ending in 05 thru 08 are in the north building (ex: 1...

We have been coming to the Charter Club for 17 years. The beach and gulfview had prompted us to buy into this Hilton manged property. This outweighs the slightly below average resort style amenities offered. My biggest problem, which I have presented for several years, is the smell of urine and dampness in the unit. Since Matt Fox took over (GM) we have seen improvements - but baby steps and many times issues are resolved in a bandaid fashion (I suppose money constraints). This is a gold mine that needs to keep up with area properties as far as decor, amenities, etc... Pool does not accommodate occupancy, always screaming, jumping, diapered kids hanging out on the ladders. It would be nice to have an adult pool so you could relax without fear of someone jumping or being hit by a toy. I like the beach better.New security has helped - but come on 95% of chairs saved at 0900 and 2 people at the pool. We have also noticed a decline in the type of guests- All said I have stopped going to owners meetings to whine about the same old stuff. Considering the Marriott Club, although pricier. I guess you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: All the rooms have fantastic gulf view

First I will start with the GREAT- the view!!! You cannot go wrong in either building. The rooms are clean and well kept. The kitchen was recently upgraded, it had granite and even a Kuerig coffee brewer. The master bath had been recently updated, it also had granite, new cabinets, wood like tile and newer fixtures. The master bedroom closet was huge with a safe, it was large enough to walk in and change your clothes. Overall the master bedroom was very nice and comfortable.

Now the good, they offer bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, hobie cats, have tennis courts, ping pong, pool and all kinds of sports.

Now the almost BAD to actually SAD - the chairs cost $25.00 a day or $105 per week. The vendor selling the chair rentals could be quite a grump. Not exactly a high level of customer friendly service.

Also there seem to be a huge amount of issues regarding the Hobie Cats, even if you took a lesson, there was an beach employee who just did not want they Hobie Cats to go out. It felt like he was being "lazy" wanted to keep the jet ski covered and not take a risk of having to do much work. We were not overly pleased with the beach folks. There was one really great guy named Chris and he did not seem to mind a little work. The other guys really just wanted to tell you how long they had "worked" on the beach or the depth of their knowledge.

Just do not go there expecting much in the way of instruction or even if you know how to sail - do not expect to be able to use a Hobie Cat - very possible that it will not happen. They should ditch the Hobie Cats if they do not want to allow guests and owners to use them.

The Kayaks and Paddle Boards were fine, the bikes were also fine. But the free sailing seemed like an unearned perk listed as a sport - when in fact it was very limited.

Also they are really hard on the kids, they almost suck the fun out of the place for the kids. Mind you in was summer, lots and lots of kids. I went down at 9 AM, there were 3 little girls with a round tube. The secuirty guard made the 3 little girls remove the tube from the pool. They were not making any noise - and yes you read that correctly - SECURITY for 3 little girls.

If I had small children, I might thnk twice about visiting this resort. A few elderly owners would not even get on the elevator when kids were present. VERY SAD!

But, even with the not so good and the SAD - we would go back. Our kids are teenagers and they seemed ok with well behaved teenagers and there were LOTS of kids. I just did not get the security guard hassling the kids. The little girls were maybe 6 years old, their Moms were at the pool with them and nobody else was around.

The rooms are comfortable, not new - but well kept and overall we had a great vacation.

We enjoyed our vacation, but it did have a few ups and downs.
