“Not To Be Missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

Peace, support and kindness mark this delightful place to stay when on busy, but beautiful Marco Island. It is always a treasure! The pool and beach beside the lake are so special for relaxation time. However, the beautiful collection of birds flying to the trees and over the water are a special treat to see gliding by. All the staff are friendly and want to help make this visit filled with comfort. All is perfectly cleaned each day to add to the joy of being there. It is a great second home and one wants to stay longer! It is a other reason to visit Marco island. The best is the Innkeeper, Marcia, who makes sure everything is PERFECT!

We stayed at this hotel as an alternative to one of the big expensive hotels on the beach. The staff was personable and attentive. The hotel itself has a small pool connected to it and a very short area next to the "lake" (more like a large pond), which was very nice. Calling it "lakeside" is a little bit of a stretch although it was good and full of wildlife, birds, turtles, etc. Meals were a slight problem for us since we didn't have a car and so had to walk a few blocks to get to a restaurant. One can get taxis for $6 to anywhere on the island but having breakfast closer would have been nice. (There are coffeemakers and coffee in the rooms, though.)They do have an area which seems like it could someday be transformed into a dining area. There are certain rooms that have balconies and others that don't. We did like this place and would recommend it with these caveats. We will probably be back.

The Lakeside Inn is a Hidden Treasure on Marco Island. The staff was outstanding at their jobs and so very friendly. The rooms are very cozy and comfortable. The pool and Tiki hut are conveniently located and well kept.

This is by far one of the cleanest most comfortable properties I have ever visited. The friendly staff greeted us with fresh baked cookies and lemonade. The grounds were manicured and clean. The room was exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. This is a place you just don't want to leave. There were even two free waters left in the fridge for us, which most hotels charge something like $2.50 per water. The grounds also had a washer and dryer for your use which was really nice after travelling for many days. Beaches were gorgeous and tons of shells.

Room Tip: You definitely want to stay here!!!

We just stayed at the Lakeside Inn for 4 days. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. The bedroom we slept in was very hot. The air conditioning didn't seem to reach to this room to well. There was a fan but it didn't help much. Other than that, it was a great place to stay

Thanks for your review and for letting us know about that bedroom being too warm. We will have maintenance take care of that right away. It's nice when people tell you about a problem so you can fix it for future guests. I'm glad you had a great stay here, too!

We really enjoy this inn! Many interesting birds as well as the occasional turtle can be observed on the lake from the screened-in balcony. The rooms are very clean, and the bed is wonderfully comfortable at the end of a long day of walking or kayaking. We appreciate the quiet there; we've never had to endure loud or rowdy guests. The grounds are neat and well kept up, and I enjoy watching the cats that wander about. The kitchen has just about everything you might need, and that free coffee in the morning is a nice way to start the day. Staff members always go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. We've never considered staying anywhere else on Marco.

Room was very large, comfortable and well appointed. My wife and I really enjoyed the large patio space with the peaceful lake view (saw a small alligator!), plus the gas grill in the pool area handled the steaks just fine. Looking forward to a return on our next Marco Island trip.

Room Tip: I think room 101 has the largest patio space
