When we first arrived at the hotel it was very late due to our flight in from Miami and the drive across but they were fine with that and helped us to our room, we had booked two rooms but when we checked in they informed us that both the rooms we had booked had been double booked so they had given us the big suite on the top floor that could fit both of our parties in. The bathrooms were just astounding, it was like we were treated like we were the royal family. The next morning we went onto our balconies to be treated with a view of the white sandy beach and the Gulf of Mexico, on our walk down to the restaurant for breakfast we were happy to be walking down the cool corridors so it wasn't too hot. In the restaurant all our food was on a buffet but if you wanted a waffle or an omelet then it was prepared right there in front of you. On checking out they were apologetic about our rooms being double booked, they also have a jug/pitcher of fresh homemade lemon water and biscuits to help yourself to on departure.

I always stay at the Hilton on Marco Island when visiting. Usually I have no problems with this hotel. However, this time the bathroom door would always get stuck and maintenance never fixed it the whole time we were there. But overall, the Hilton is a nice place to stay and the location is great. You do have to pay for parking every day which I think they should get rid of as well as chairs and an umbrella for the beach. All in all, the visit will be very pleasant.

I was a bit uncertain about choosing this hotel for a five-night stay, given a few of the negative comments here. Well, I needn't have worried. This resort is definitely pricey, but so is everything on Marco Island. If cost is a major concern (which is perfectly reasonable), I'd suggest different level of hotel, or even a different venue. From my own perspective, the Hilton was worth every penny: a beautiful location (one of only three hotels on the expansive beachfront), a lovely room (spacious, modern, clean furnishings - do consider getting an ocean view), and staff that consistently exceeded even Hilton's high standards of customer service these days. Recommended!

Room Tip: If you have Hilton status or can afford the premium rate, you can't go wrong with an ocean-view...

I have always enjoyed this hotel and have stayed here several times. The renovations are well done and my one bedroom suite was spacious and fantastic. I love this location, great staff but the towel situation is very new for Hilton (isn't this a Marriott thing?). I hate hate hate having to guard my towel with my life. I am throwing my complaint right up front in hopes that management sees it and doesn't just dismiss a good review and move on...it's a beach resort! People use towels! Please let us have towels without fear or threat of financial punishment. People cower in fear over the towels and it is ridiculous...where do you think we are taking them?!?

Okay...now the good stuff...of course the beach is out of this world and the Patio Cafe is so much better than I thought it would be that it saved me from having to go off campus...excellent fish and other options (and I am a very picky eater at best). CHAIR SERVICE YES!!!! Love it, the guys were great, Bart runs a perfect beach hut that is cool and fun and loose....jet ski guys are very professional...pool is crowded with kids but you don't need it because the Gulf is a bathtub...

Now to the Beach Bar...ugh! This is really an easy fix by putting more servers on the beach. You wait an hour for a drink on the beach and you head up to the Beach Bar in frustration only to find yourself on the longest line in creation! The girls behind the bar are killing themselves so it is not their fault...small bar and painfully long beach service equals long lines. This is an easy fix and I hope they pay attention...I would prefer to have my drink served to me (promptly) on the beach but many people (out of frustration) went and bought coolers rather than deal with it...this is just bad business.

Okay, upsides...many restaurants in the area have free car service to and from the Hilton which is a very nice/smart perk. Ask the lovely. Liz at Concierge and she will arrange (but tip your driver well please!).

The Spa is amazing! Really beautiful and peaceful and just pure heaven so do indulge (and they have LOADS OF TOWELS AND THEY DONT COUNT THEM)...

This hotel was crowded (it was Easter week) but the staff didn't quit for a second...kind and helpful and fun. There was a problem with an idiot with a drone on the beach that was driving everyone nuts and management jumped right on it...great staff, great crowd of people, great part of Florida.

But the cherry on top are the Sunsets on the beach...just takes you away and really not to be missed....

Stayed 4 nights with family. Positives - our first time in Marco Island and the area is beautiful. Beach is huge with soft white sand (row of crushed shells right before waterline), water is clear and warm, great to explore the "10,000 islands", fun restaurants in area (try Little Bar, Snook Inn; also Marco Island Fish company across the street). We would spend time at Marco, in this area of island again. The company in front of hotel that does wave runner rentals and tours did a nice job (recommend their tour). Stayed in one-bedroom suite that was spacious and had very nice balcony that we used quite a bit. Quiet, good night sleep. On the downside - Room has clearly had updates over the years - but bit by bit in in-consistent styles. Carpeting in bedrooms and hallways is unusual for beach resort - and showed the stains and odor. Paradise cafe restaurant food was very average, and closes for lunch at 2pm (we were turned away right at 2pm and pool bar was overwhelmed, so if your schedule is running late, you end up leaving property). Pool was relatively small for modern "resort" as hotel is billed - we did not use at all - jammed with families with small kids. Tennis courts had odd, limited hours - they are har-tru courts that weren't well maintained. Concierge not very helpful (got better advice from the valet parking guys).

Room Tip: higher floors, facing north, room with a fridge and bring some food

So we just spend 3 nights here and we had a good not great experience. Pros: Clean rooms ,pleasant reception desk, beautiful beach, good breakfast buffet. Cons: Only 2 waiters on the beach to serve 300 plus people (frozen drinks were like water when they arrived), no happy hour at outside bar, only inside at the formal bar, beach chairs are old and dirty, beach rentals do not open till 9 and clean up promptly at 5,no one eating at the restaurants???. Definitely a bit over priced for what they give.
I was thinking with a few changes this place could really be five star.

Room Tip: Stay far away from elevators

After an unforgettable Disney/KSC/Fort Lauderdale/John Pennekamp Coral Reef/Everglades National Park days, what could be more perfect for a beach family relaxing retreat than Marco Island? We were a family of 4 with 2 kids (7 & 11 yrs) and the Hilton gave us everything that we need: great sunny warm water beach. The Staff was very attentive and warm. A great experience.
