“great for the price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013

We had a great 3-day "mini-honeymoon" stay at the Hilton Marco Island right after our wedding (our "real" honeymoon will be Hawaii in January). It was not a 5-star, luxury resort, but it was very nice, especially for the low rate ($145-ish/night in mid-November). The convenience and service were the best.

Service: From the moment we checked in and our room was upgraded to an ocean view, we had pleasant experiences with the staff. They also were helpful in recommended restaurants and transportation and booking the taxis for us.

Convenience: It was so easy to get to the beach right from the pool/deck at the hotel, and the chairs were free. Umbrellas could be rented. It was even easy to go back and forth between beach and pool, and you could order food at the pool or even right from your beach chairs! We have a nice shot of ourselves enjoying drinks with umbrellas in them and eating lunch right on the beach. The beach view was beautiful and the pool was very nice, with a hot tub also. The only downside is that you can't see the ocean from the pool chairs. You can see it from the deck with the restaurant tables where you an order food or have a drink.

Rooms/hotel: For a non-luxury hotel, I was impressed. Our room was spacious, including a couch in a little side area next to the beds. It also included a balcony that looked over the pool and ocean, which was a nice amenity as well. In the evening it was fun to open the door and hear the vacation-y happy hour music playing down at the pool bar. Once the doors were closed, it was appropriately quiet.

Food: We didn't eat at any of the hotel restaurants except the pool bar, but that food was delicious for what it was (basics like fried food, burgers, etc.). There were also other convenient options like a Starbucks cart and a convenience store inside the hotel (although it was pricey and there was a 7-11 across the street where we ultimately went to stock up on water).

Nearby: One of the best surprises, given that we thought we would be hotel-bound as we hadn't rented a car, is that there was a little strip mall across the street that at first looked like exactly that, but upon entering and turning a corner, turned out to be a very pretty plaza with multiple options for outdoor (or indoor) dining. We had a delicious dinner at the Italian restaurant there. It was a perk to have all of those options just a walk across the street. We also took a very affordable cab ride to a different restaurant (Fin, highly rated on this site) another night.

Overall, it was exactly what we wanted for a relaxing mini-honeymoon: great service; great pool, beach, and bar; convenient; and relaxing. I'd recommend it!

We recently stayed 3 nights at the Hilton on Marco Island. Our large, clean room had a balcony with a view of the ocean and the resort pool. It is located right on the beach and that is a nice plus. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean facing view.

This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. I definitely would stay there again. Every single person was extremely nice with us from the front desk girl to the guy who delivered the beach chairs. Great place to rest.

I always enjoy my visits to the Hilton Marco Island. The staff is top notch! You know it's a great place when you see the same staff (& guests) year after year. I'm always anxious to get back! They take great pride in the property. Mac Chaudhry is a great manager! Tina is always a helpful Concierge and makes great recommendations! Earl in the lunge always brings a smile to my face. Stacey at the outdoor bar is very friendly. Bud always helps us with our seating at the pool. And Gunter is a great bell man! D'Jeanie always kept our room looking nice and helped us with additional towels, etc as needed. Looking forward to coming back!!! Thanks for another wonderful experience!!

We have stayed at this hotel three times over the pat three years. We have always enjoyed the location, with a beautiful beach and a quiet corner of southwest Florida and reasonable prices. What made this particular trip special was the staff, all of whom couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. The front desk, in particular, deserves special mention. The front desk manager, Amar Jossan, went far out of his way to provide us with our special requests despite the hotel being full and, at our particular check in time, overrun with other guests checking in as well. His effort set the stage for a wonderful weekend relaxing on the beach and enjoying the ambience of a well run resort hotel. We will be back.

Stayed with three generations and it was perfect for all of us! Early November was a great time, too. Good food in hotel and within walking distance. Particularly enjoyed Irish pub across street. Recommend renting a car for your stay. If you bring children, visit the Naples Zoo too! Great sunset on the beach.

This is a very well run property with well trained staff. We were in room 600 that had virtually no wifi access, when it worked, it was spotty at best and then only available at the desk. Other than that, nice place. Food was good (breakfast were the only meals we ate here) the pool is immaculate, nice beach, spotless hotel including rooms/common areas/grounds.

Room Tip: Odd number rooms face the pool. The higher the floor, the better. Decent beach view from all rooms.
