“Nice, updated room, but...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

The renovated room we had for five nights is a nice upgrade from the previous incarnation, however, there are some things that we felt were missing or inferior during our last stay that still disappointed us.
There is still no microwave. For a hotel/resort of a Hilton caliber, I feel this should be a no brainer. There is still the worst coffee maker I've ever seen. It seems that management is forcing you to use the Starbucks downstairs. The water pressue in the shower is still sporadic. Sometimes, it almost stops. The tub had an apparent permanent stain because everytime we left the room, we removed the suction pads for the tub, and everytime it was back in, the stain remained.
Overall, a good rating due to the beds and upgraded rooms, but I still think those two simple things should be standard. I qualified for free wifi, but in 2011, when you can get wifi in McDonald's, it's time to make that free for everyone.
The beds are very nice. We do like staying there, but a few things could still be improved. We'll be back.

Room Tip: Tight room availability during construction.

This was our first visit to Marco Island and I have to say, I was very happy with my choice of hotel. I am a frequent traveler and I stay mainly at Hilton properties; this one ranks very high on my list. The staff was wonderful, the newly renovated rooms were very nice and the restaurants were excellent. My only complaint was that the wireless internet was spotty throughout the hotel and nearly non-existent in my end of the hall room. There are many restaurant choices within walking distance if you want to go out and about. I highly recommend this hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel five times. This last time was the first since the renovation, and the upgrades are nice. The new rooms have upgraded beds, bathrooms and deck furniture.

The hotel overall is in great shape and on a huge huge beach. You can walk ~.9 miles south and ~4 miles north (depending on tide).

The breakfast buffet is awesome.

The most under reported part of this hotel is there are 5 restaurants / bar right across the street. Italian, Mexican, Irish, and sports bars all within a block. You never need to drive any where unless you want too.

Staff always accommodating and near overly friendly.

Room Tip: Closer to the ocean the better, also if you want less noise the non-pool side is a good idea.

I was very pleased with our newly renovated very spacious room and wonderful view. These are some of the best rooms ever! The hotel restaurants' food was excellent! Great variety. Happy hour at Sandcastles is great, because you get two drinks for the price of one. Beautiful facility! Many weddings on the beach at sunset. Perfect location for weddings. Very friendly staff! Great gift shop. Rooms were spotless and fresh. My only complaint was that the pool is small. There is a 50 person limit to the pool, and if there is a group staying there, they take over the pool. The beach is amazing and the sunsets are fabulous. Take a ride on the Waverunners for a great trip to see dolphins up close. Lots of shells for shell hunting lovers. Great beach to walk or run, but bring your tennis shoes. The beach is loaded with broken shells. Umbrellas on the beach available for small rental charge and worth it. Very calm water. Not a lot of big waves. Great for small children to play.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are worth the price.

Just returned from a trip to Florida. We spent 5 nights at the Marco Island Hilton. It was amazing. The staff was so nice especially the guys at the beach hut where you get your chairs and umbrellas. The rooms are beautiful and we were in one of the ones that has not been refurbished yet. (They are refurbishing all the rooms) When we arrived we were put in room 215 which I was a little upset by because we had paid for a deluxe gulf view and I thought it would be on a higher floor. The girl assured me that the view was very nice. She was right. It was a beautiful view of the gulf and of the pool area. My husband and I had the best 5 days on Marco Island. I think this is going to become a yearly thing for us. Can't wait to go back and will definitely stay at the Hilton but next time it will be for the entire week. :) Thanks for a wonderful vacation.

Yes the hotel is under renovation, we were in an Oceanview Suite (4th floor) and there was work above us, but it in no way did it interfere with our stay, very little noise. We also had a rather nice airfreshener by the T.V and thought it a nice touch. We found the staff very friendly, helpful and was able to understand them all. Having stayed previous years at the Marriot we prefered the smaller Hilton (not so many kids). Our rooms although dated were clean, everything worked and was huge, balcony overlooked the ocean. Would we return? YES.

Room Tip: Room 410 beach front suite - worth the extra.

From the time we checked in we were thrilled with our choice in places to stay! The staff was super friendly and welcoming. we stayed in a 9th floor oceanview room which was completely renovated and just lovely!!! We were pleased to have a small fridge plus a seating area and a balcony with chairs and table. It is true that the hotel is under renovation and it was a little bit noisy but they didnt start working until about 11:00 am and the hotel compensated us with deep discounts on activities which we took full advantage of. we had been vacationing for a month and had stayed in several hotels and I have to say that the staff at this hotel was the best that I have encountered. I really felt like every staff member was just so happy that I was on vacation!!! I do have to mention Stacy (at the outdoor cafe/bar and Alicia (at the Starbucks shop). These 2 ladies really stood out and were really terrific!!! Beach access was fantastic and as soon as you step on the beach you are immediately brought lounge chairs and they are placed wherever you ask. We cannot wait to go back and stay!!! Also....big plus.....NO RESORT FEE!!! =)

Room Tip: self park....its cheaper!!
