“A bit of a let down!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

My family and I were very excited to stay at the West Palm Beach Ritz Carlton. Upon arrival, it was as expected... beautiful property and helpful staff. We were not able to spend much time that night at the hotel because we had other plans, but when we did arrive back at our room that night, we were confronted with the ever so annoying whine of the elevator as we attempted to sleep. It wasn't the people coming off on our floor, but every time it was moving floor to floor it whined so loud that it kept me up most of the night! Absolutely miserable! It is what it is though... I had intentions of enjoying the pool and beach area with my family the next day, so I was looking forward to it. Arriving at the pool about 1030am, it was packed with people from a local law firm, each with their own water bottles (not filled with water, mind you), at the kids pool (kids are not allowed at the quiet pool). The attendants rushed to help them set up their chairs, but completely ignored us taking our own towels from their booths to find chairs. Everyone was smoking cigarettes one after another, completely ignorant of everyone else that might be TRYING to use the pool, including kids! There were plenty of chairs not being used, but apparently everyone had put towels on nearly EVERY chair so they could save them for later in the day. We approached a pool attendant to ask about the smoking since it was bothering the kids, and they said that they allow it, and that we would have to move. Where else would you have liked me to move? They had taken over the ENTIRE pool area. We attempted to relax for about an hour, asking for menus and such because we were hungry. After about an hour of not one attempt to help us, we decided it wasn't worth it, so we packed up and left for home by 12:30. I will probably not return to this property.

Room Tip: Specifically, request a room AWAY from the elevator. We stayed at this hotel for 1 night, and our r...

“Outstanding service and amenities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

You would have to really look to find a negative about this hotel. The rooms were in excellent condition, as was the lobby area. Service is excellent, attentive without being cloying. We were there after a hurricane so they were scrambling to fix the steps going down to the beach that had been destroyed. An attendant was there building steps by hand so people could get down.
Check in was easy as was check out. We wanted to use the mini bar as a frig and there was not a blink about that. Rooms have a safe, a large bathroom and the beds were comfortbable.
The only unhappy surprise was that there was a fee for parking $28 per day which we did not expect. That really increased the cost of staying at that hotel. The bridge closest to the hotel was closed for construction and we should have been told that when we made our resrevation. Without a car though, you are stuck. There is a small shopping center across the street but nowhere close to pick up a few groceries. I would say this is an adult location and too formal for kids.

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony are the best.

“Perfect Weekend in PB”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

My husband and I sat in the sun, enjoyed delicious meals at BLT, walked around Palm Beach - came home relaxed and refreshed. We enjoyed the adults only pool area. Would highly recommend for a short weekend getaway, especially if you are looking for a quieter, slower pace than Miami. Amazing RC breakfast and omelet station. Upscale town nearby, quick cab ride away from the Breakers. Enjoyed the ice cream store across the street as well. Service is impeccable, we were approached by a manager while we were at the pool and asked how we were enjoying our stay - we told her that we were celebrating our engagement...an hour later she had prepared a special gift for us...its the small things that really make a difference - ENJOY.

“Overall good for business purposes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

The Ritz in Manalapan is a pretty decent spot. The service is atypical Ritz Carlton with some very nice dining and bar activities. The outside deck in the rear is very nice, with a wood burning fire pit on most evenings.

The rooms are in top order. Perfectly maintained. I would however caveat this that is you're looking for an ocean view, you're more than likely not going to be in luck. This ocean front property is situated so the property runs longers rather than wider. Thus, the vast majority of the rooms is facing either an apartment building on one side or a property development on the other.

The bar is quite nice and the service there is fantastic.

The one drawback is the location. The hotel is located quite a distance from other restaurants, (Atlantic Ave) etc. Expect at least a 15 minute drive to get pretty much anywhere.

Overall though, good experience.
