The Friendlay fisherman was anything but! Four adults crammed into a tiney booth. When our wiatress (trish) showed up she was very abrupt and scowling at us. After we placed our order our waitress was non existant. Our appetizer arrived after our main course and then only when we said we never received them, the mozzerella sticks were still cold in the center. Trish slammed our plates down and rushed away before she asked if we need anything else. The chicken was dleicious but the two fish entrees ordered (2 differnet dinners) were overcooked and tasteless. When we asked to speak to the manager Trish suddenly appeared and crabbed the check form our hands and yelled at us. WHen the manager finally arrived he did take off the mozzerella sticks and apologized. Too little too late. WE have had better shrimp at Red Lobster! We will NEVER go back and let all our friends know to steer clear.
The Friendly Fisherman has the best breakfast -- we went there four straight days in row and enjoyed everything. The waffles with strawberries are great! My favorite was the "works" sandwhich -- yum. Great for kids.
We were debating between all the restaurants on the John's Pass boardwalk. We wanted seafood, so we decided on this one; I am so glad we did! It was a good price for a ton of food! With their dinners you get the main course plus 2 sides and corn fritters. For the sides they have a really good house salad, and bake potatoes, or sweet potatoes. The staff was really nice, and we got seated immediately. It is a great view to see the ocean right out the window. We really enjoyed eating here.
We ate here during our honeymoon stay in Madeira Beach in December '07. The place came recommended by the receiptionist at the resort we stayed at.
We were first seated inside next to the window. After hearing music outside, we asked if we could move to the deck. Our waitress was very friendly and was more than happy to accommodate us. It must have been a guy with a karaoke machine...doing a really bad Elvis gig. But it was funny and much better than sitting inside. We had the place to ourselves : )
As other posts have read, the clam chowder was very yummy. Our plates were full and the prices were just right! My husband's dinner was also lunch the next day due to the amount he was given. Everything had a fresh taste too it. We were very happy we took the advise given.
