“We still love it there”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2011

We have been staying here for more than 12 years and just completed a 9 day stay and I must say things are getting back to the way they used to be. They recently made a complete management and personnel change and that was long over due. Perception of an establishment starts at the front desk and for the last few years the people they had there were not pleasant to deal with. They more than likely lost more customers than they brought in. We were concidering going else where but we love the location and the beach. When you come to the office now you get a welcome to the Shoreline. ( I haven't heard that for a while)
All the rooms have been up dated and they look pretty good. All the staff they have now are pleasant and will take the time to talk to you. Any concerns that you bring up are addressed in short order. There was a group in the pool in their early twenties and they put a glass beer bottle on the edge of the pool. ( THIS IS A NO NO) The manager came out of the office, greeted them, picked up the beer and poured it into a cup and threw the bottle in the garbage can. The issue was addressed without making a big deal out of it. It was handled in a prfessional manner and it never happened again. ( A pure class act by the manager) So all of you that used to come and were turned off by the previous bad management and stopped coming should give the Shoreline another try. I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised by the changes that they have made.

Thank you for your kind words. Your review of our hotel has been shared with the entire staff. More changes are in the works. New patio furniture and an expanded breakfast are waiting for you on your next visit. Again, thank you for passing the word.

This was not our first visit to this part of Florida, but it was our first stay at the Shoreline.

Our room was a Gulf Front efficiency with balcony. Fifth floor. We could not have asked for a cleaner, more comfortable room, with views of the Gulf that were terrific. As soon as we checked in we took a walk on the beach...the water was crystal clear, and must have been at least in the low to mid-eighties. The next morning we fixed breakfast in our room, headed down to the pool for a swim, read the paper, and then we headed to John's Pass, easily within walking distance, and rented a wave-runner. Loads of fun. More relaxing back at the Motel, some swimming in the Gulf, dinner, and capped it off with a long walk along the beach watching the sun set. Our flight out was early, so we sadly had to head out at 630AM on Sunday. Did I mention that this turned out to be quite a romantic weekend? The Shoreline is a gem.

Other reviews we read before making our reservation suggested that the Shoreline is worn around the edges. That wear is gentle, and charming. The big bonus for us was that it is ADULTS ONLY! Don't get us wrong, kids are fine, but the absence of the little ones, especially in the pool/lounge area, was much appreciated. Peaceful, and quiet wins the day when you want to get away to relax. The staff on duty were super friendly, and very helpful. Parking can be tight, but more than adequate.

We will definitely book reservations here again the next time we are in the area.

Perfect place for adults to escape. Beach is beautiful and much less crowded than further north around the congested tourist areas. Great location to get to those such locations within minutes. Our room was spacious and very clean. It was nice to have a kitchenette to fix a lazy morning breakfast to enjoy on our private gulf front balcony. Full size fridge to keep snacks and drinks. Grocery is close and staff has great recommendations on where to eat, shop and relax. Will return!

Our room #216 had a wonderful balcony with a view of the beach/pool/shuffleboard area. The a/c in our room was making a terrible racket when we arrived, but was quickly repaired upon request. The room was large and clean, the bed/sofa couch were very comfortable - very quiet. The kitchenette had everything you could possibly want - again - very clean.
We walked to John's Pass (1/2 hr along the beach), enjoyed walking over to Screwie Louie's for breakfast (under 5 minutes) - Dockside Dave next door also offered good food. Enjoyed playing miniature golf at Smuggler's Cove - really neat little course!
We were happy we rented a car - a drive down to Pass-a-Grille was well worth the drive. We went to the Wharf Restaurant twice as well as The Pub Waterfront in Indian Shores - two lovely outdoor eateries with good food. We also drove to Sarasota to take in the Ringling Museum - a full day and very interesting - again worth the drive.
We had a wonderful relaxing holiday and recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: I called the Shoreline and requested the room

My husband & I were looking for a clean, relaxing, and reasonably priced motel with a beautiful beach & ocean view. We found it at Shoreline! We had our own little screened in balcony overlooking the beach, the beds were very comfortable, and the decor "beach themed". The staff AND guests were very friendly & nice. The pool was clean & refreshing. There were some imperfections from age, but I prefer a clean, reasonably priced & relaxing environment for my money than an expensive, "perfect" resort. I also liked the ADULT only environment...sure made the pool area a more relaxing place! We will go back! AND...I looked for the mold & bugs from a previous comment, but couldn't find them!

Room Tip: Any room with a balcony

We stayed in the Deluxe Efficiency for one week. The room was excellent. Very spacious and clean. Beds were great. We walked the beach every day and spent a lot of time relaxing at the pool. Exactly what we were looking for. The location can't be beat. 1 mile from John's Pass. We will be staying here every year in the spring. The staff was very professional and eager to please. Our stay could not have been better.

We were so anxious to spend some time on the beach and turned out awful! Our room had mold and bugs. We complained to management and they moved us to a different room that also had mold. It looked like they tried to remodel it at one time but did a awful job. There is no bar or restaurant so it was very boring. We cut our vacation short. This place is not worth having my hard earned dollars.
