“Nothing Special...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

John's Pass is nothing special. There are a bunch of made in China stores selling the same old same old tourist junk. There are only a couple of nice shops like the Bronze Lady, the leather shop and one more next to the Bronze Lady but I can't remember the name of it. The restaurants were ok, nothing spectacular. We also like Meyer's chocolate/ice cream shop but that's about it.

We appreciate your candid review of John's Pass and compliments to the Bronze Lady, The Leather Shoppe and The Landing (I believe that is the store you're talking about by The Bronze Lady). Thanks again; have a good one!

“A Fun Afternoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

John's Pass is a great place to grab lunch or ice cream, people watch, and enjoy an afternoon outside. The shops are typical beachside shops - hats, swimsuits, branded sweatshirts, souvenirs, etc. There seemed to be quite a few options for water sport activities too.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Yes, there are lots of water sports options; check one out next time. If you jet ski, you're certain to see a dolphin jumping just a couple feet in front of you! You might also cruise up on a manatee taking a stroll. Hope you have a great vacation, and we'll see you again soon!

Nice take. Sometimes living here you miss the big picture of things. Touristy is our life, so it's tough to distinguish. I like the analogy. We have a lot of celebs that live on the beach, maybe a movie will be in the works???

“Tourist Trap”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2014

This place will cost you! Parking here like everywhere else in the area costs $1.50/hour and watch out where you buy ice-cream from. We went to Kohr's frozen custard and it was $13 for two cones! On a positive note, if you like salt water taffy, there was a candy store called Meyers where you can pick lots of different flavors at $2.50 a quarter pound which is cheaper at Candy Kitchen down the road but they had better flavors, especially Sprite and Rootbeer!

“Fun place rain or shine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2014

Many unique shops, several restaurants, and pelican views.
The Boardwalk offers tours day-time or sunset, with fishing charters and lots of pelicans hanging around for a hand out when the fishing boats return or just sitting on the pier, sunning themselves.
There are at least 5 shops selling bathing suits, beach towels and all sorts of beach accessories .Great place to take the family if the weather is cool, windy or rainy or if the kids get bored with the beach. Come early for dinner or come and get on the wait list and then go see the sights. We always buy something , clothing, jewelry, leather wallets or purses, candles, hand blown glass,or other. If you are staying on the beach,a timeshare or rental property from TRS,or hotel close to John's Pass it is better to walk over and not pay for parking.Restaurants can be crowded but many choices - Hooters,Bubba Gump, Dockside Dave's ,Friendly Fisherman, Pizza.and more. For more refined dining the Middle Grounds Grill -great food, atmospere and reasonable price is located about 6 blocks south of John's Pass just before the main route on and off Treasure Island .

Great review of John's Pass and the area. For clarity to anyone reading this review, Dockside Dave's is not in John's Pass, it is just north on Gulf Blvd. Thanks again for the in-depth review.
