My husband and I stayed at See the Sea for 2 nights before moving into St John's for his business trip. We arrived in stellar sunshine and the view really is breathtaking. Our room overlooked the view, as do all the rooms. Our room was a nice size, and very nicely decorate. Your host Sandy has set up the rooms with a little bar-type affair so you can sit at the window with a snack or a drink or your laptop and look out to sea. Very sensible! Although not en suite, each room does have its own private bathroom. She also has a lovely living area, kitchenette and dining area (again, overlooking the view) for guests.
The real treat at See the Sea is Sandy herself. She can spin a Newfoundland tale with the best of them, and is a real font of knowledge about the area. When she makes a suggestion, I can guarantee it will be a good one. She seems to know everyone in the hospitality business, so a prime table at a good restaurant is a laughing phone call away.
We had two different breakfasts, both very, very good. Her neighbour does the cooking and she is also local. The two of them together are unstoppable!
Our verdict? You should not miss out on this B&B, particularly if you have not spent a lot of time in the St John's area.
