Cons

Peeling wall paper

Cost: Even with my AARP discount it was way over priced for what you got. (AARP saved me $12/night which mostly paid the taxes on our stay and/or foot the bill for one dinner).
The room was in very poor condition. The bathroom needs special attention (see pictures of the bottom of the bathroom door, caulking needed, counter top looks stained). The closet door came off it rails not once but twice and the bathroom light switch was broken. Wall paper was peeling away from wall. Water spots on ceiling.

I would have asked for a new room, except the hotel was full and the view from the room was very good!

Service very variable. Infrequently the front desk acted as if they could care less. Although most shuttle drivers were good or very good, one or more again gave the attitude that they could care less. Wait staff in restaurant mostly very good….other times not so much. The bartender did not know his stock well. He did poor a good drink neat.

Bottom-line? For the most part this did not work. I doubt I will stay here again. I will not recommend it to my friends.

I came to the hotel thinking that the experience would be typical of any other hotel. That was not the case. The people at the desk are very professional and friendly. The location is exceptional. The beach is wonderful. The service is great, and breakfast was delightful. When I return, this is my stop for Longboat Key. Before I forget, the sunset views are spectacular!

Booked this hotel at the last minute after arriving at another hotel (Homewood Suites) and finding it unsuitable. Assumed this Hilton would be a quality location as Hilton is usually a hotel of high standards. We understand that this location is due to take on major renovations. It is unfortunate that the renovations have not taken place sooner. The management is charging a high price for a facility that should have been razed years ago. Our room has ants crawling on the bar and the tile floor in front. The ants are probably on the carpeted floor too, but much harder to see. The floors do not look as if a vacuum cleaner has been used in quite some time. We are in room 319 and on the floor at the right corner leading into the TINY bathroom is a plastic collar stay that you find in the packaging when purchasing a new shirt. Wonder how long it has been there! After looking further at the other corners, I discovered more filth that should not exist in a hotel charging the prices that they are here! I will compliment the restaurant staff....very friendly and offered service with a smile. The reception/front desk staff were not so friendly. We look forward to returning, once the improvements are completed, and we hope this Hilton returns to the usual standards we have come to expect.

We enjoyed our stay, but I understand the hotel is to undergo major renovations. Rooms are outdated, and Internet was slow, but it worked. Food was good and onsite restaurant with breakfast buffet came in handy.
