“Very relaxing!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We loved the location! In the middle of the Keys so easy to navigate to other areas. Rooms were very charming. Loved the porch outside our room with the table and chairs. The hammocks were relaxing after a day of exploring. The lady at the front desk was not the nicest and the continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. The coffee machine was not working and no tea options. Bagels were stale. All in all we would go back and hope to do so soon!

Room Tip: Don't chose the standard room! Upstairs has the better views.

Had an upstairs room and a fantastic sunset view.Property is landscaped very nice with its own private beach.Staff was very friendly and accommodating.Only thing we did not like was no restaurants or bars in the area of resort but rooms did have microwave and fridge. If you want to go someplace where you can sit back and relax in a tropical setting this place is it

Room Tip: ask for a suite, standard rooms are small

Loved the place, very quiet, although we were informed that it was 100% occupation, we did not feel the place as crowded. Very pleasant experience.
The room was very confortable and with a great view to the Gulf.
Only If this location had a "sandy" beach......
Excellent location to watch sunsets.

We checked in late on a Sunday afternoon. We had booked a basic room and after seeing room thought maybe we would like an upstairs room, we went back to office and asked about other rooms. Older lady working first wanted to make sure that we hadn't "messed up" room so she couldn't rent it. We said no just placed luggage in room. She took a while to figure out what the price was. That is the difference with a best western or Hilton. You don't like the room, let me see if I can find something you like. That is why it is called the hospitality business. Our room was fine, fairly large, large frig, little pato with rockers, good tv, every cable so it was all good.
The next day we drove to key west for day. Still had the remnants of hurricane sandy with the
wind. Next day got up and when to long key state park across street and hiked and swam on sandy beach. Came back and asked at desk if we could kayak. No wasn't available for few weeks. I didnt see anything in the ad about limitations and the wind was greatly reduced, so the bottom line is the
Room is fine, but the service seems to have an adversarial edge to it. We are staying for three nights, but it seems like many guests just stop in for one nite. Rather than trying to be resort of choice they continue to allow crabby employee give people a reason to write negative reviews.

Room Tip: I think the basic rooms are fine.

We checked in for 1 night only. Desk staff was pleasant and informative. Property is clean with a beautiful view. Our room was great-2nd floor overlooking water and beach area. Room was very nicely decorated and very clean. Parking was ok, gravel lot, lots of spaces. Following morning, water pressure was very low and actually stopped at one point. Staff said new water pumps were installed last week that may be the issue. Overall, highly recommend this for a romantic place to stay.

Nice quaint hotel, dated, friendly staff, room was small, bathroom real small. A/C was leaking water on the floor. Water scene is awesome. Bed headboard was loose. Breakfast on the water was very nice. Overall, I would recommend.

Thank you for your recent comments regarding our hotel. You probably stayed in our "Standard Waterfront Room" which does indeed have small bath rooms which we mention in the room description contained on our website. Because of the small bathroom, it is our practice to price these waterfront rooms well below rates that are common for waterfront rooms in the Florida Keys. These attractive room prices combined with the terrific waterfront location and private porches overlooking the water make them very popular for people on a budget. Please know that we have 8 room categories and that 6 of these 8 room categories have large, comfortable bathrooms. Please take a look at our website and/or feel free to call us so that we can walk you through our various choices of accommodations.Sorry you had a problem with the A/C. We encourage our guests to call the front desk whenever they find a maintenance issue that needs to be addressed. We have full time maintenance staff on hand 24/7 just for that reason. We are glad you found our staff to be friendly and that you are planning to come back. We look forward to having you come back for another stay at Lime Tree Bay Resort.
