My husband and I stayed here for a week in early October. We are in our mid fifties and enjoy a quiet vacation and this area fit us well.Our room was unit 15, which is a studio unit with a murphy bed. It is small, but with the bed tucked away during the day the room was quite comfortable and the bed was very easy to raise and lower.The bathroom was small as we expected. There is no bathtub and the corner shower is tiny, so much so that if we had stayed for more than a week I would want a larger space. If the bulky shower curtain was removed and replaced with a shower door it would probably feel a little less claustrophobic. You know how some shower curtains float in to attach themselves to your wet skin? Combine that with an already tiny space and it isn't fun.
The only other aspect of the room I didn't like is the location of the room safe. It is above the microwave which is so high the average woman would have to stand on a chair to reach it. Moving it to a lower cupboard would be an improvement in safety and convenience.
The room and the grounds were very well kept. Thank you to Deborah for her cleaning as well as her friendliness. I don't know the man's name who did the outside work but thanks to him as well.The office staff were friendly and helpful and very prompt in updating us when the power failed one morning. The view from our unit was wonderful. The air conditioning unit was whisper quiet.
If we return to this area I would certainly choose Windjammer again. I'm still checking out the beach cam daily!

My first time to this resort and I would recommend anyone to stay here. The management and everyone that works there could not be any nicer, very clean and close to everything. Thanks to the staff for the enjoyable stay and I will come back.

I got stuck in Fort Lauderdale this past Oct and Nov, well, not really stuck, but I came down on the 24th and planned going to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show as I have done for the past 10 years or so. Well after one night at some terrible hotel just down the street, I checked into the Windjammer and did not want to leave. I had originally planned on staying through the 29th of October, but thanks to Hurricane Sandy, I stayed an additional 5 nights, through November 3rd. All I can say is you have to see it to believe it, what a really nice and clean hotel should be. Friendly & helpful staff and clean, no...not that clean, but really, really clean..
This place is just great, however, on this trip it was not my first choice, but will be from now on in.

It has it all...oceanviews, oceanfront, two pools,, BBQ area, Tent like gazebo.....and of course, it's own private beach. Did I mention how clean it was?....It is clean!!!

This is truly a gem it was our first stay here and not our last.The location is excellent and the beach is beautiful.the rooms were on the smaller side but they had everything we needed.Daily maid service was nice for a timeshare.The bathroom was small for sure but everything was clean.the staff were very friendly and willing to help answering any questions.Nice small pool areas and bbq area was excellent.A block or so to 3-4 restaurants,stores ,shops on a quaint quiet street.
Small two story building seems to make everything low key and we really enjoyed that.
Morning sunrises and evening sunsets were enjoyed on the deck and a short stroll out the gate and you are on the beach.the pier is a five minute walk so overall it is a very nice beach location and the property is very well kept
