“Great meal and 2 for 1 lunch offer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

Had lunch here on Saturday. It was busy but service was efficient and friendly. Waiter took time to explain the dishes and was very knowledgeable.
I had the crab cake with corn sauce, followed by snapper. Very tasty meal and the 2 for 1 offer at lunch was well worth having.
Interesting location near the intercoastal waterway and seeing the bridge go up and down but we didnt see a manatee.

“Best fish in Fort Lauderdale”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

This place has the best fish in town. A scenic place on the inter-coastal is always a winner. They also have a very good Sunday Brunch and 2 for 1 lunches during the week.

“NOT impressed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Sadly , I was rather disappointed with the whole experience. I went with an guest from Nebraska . Unfortunately , there is better seafood in the Midwest . I ordered the macadamia nut crusted Sea Bass . The vegetables found under the sea bass were so over powered by the soy I couldn't identify them. My Sea Bass was blah , the macadamia nuts were wet not crusty , I scraped the breading off. Our waiter was not attentive. We had to ask twice to bring butter and he neglected to ask if we would like fresh ground pepper . We were told that deck seating was unavailble but the deck never filled up while we were there ( a Tuesday night) . The vibe was old and dated inside.

“Expensive Average Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

The ambiance is nice, view is good. Service seemed hurried, and when we asked to have the checks separated, server didn't know how to do that and seemed extremely annoyed. Food was average for the price. I got the shrimp and pasta and it didn't really have a lot of flavor. Not sure we would return...

“It sneaks up on you ... Sunday brunch at BMFC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

So by the time you sit down with your assortment of desserts after 90 minutes or so of sampling the extensive brunch selections and downing a few (included in the price) mimosas or bloody mary's, it sneaks up on you and BAM - you're not just full, you're stuffed, and the delectable sweets, inviting as they are, may not leave the plate. We visiting 5/5/2013, not for Cinco de Mayo but for our anniversary. Yes, a full afternoon brunch on the waterside instead of another trip to Ruth's Chris, La Brochette or Council Oak for the obligatory dinner. It was a nice change of pace albeit not much less expensive. Sunday brunch for two was just over $100 with tax, then add whatever tip you feel is appropriate for the very attentive wait staff who brought drinks, cleared plates and brought the entree course fresh from the kitchen. The staff was very helpful and on the spot - five stars there. The food ranged from "OK" to very good but nothing blew me away.

You'll choose from up to six petite entree courses and have as many as you want. Today it was crab cake, swordfish (delicate and flavorful served on cous cous), a large seared scallop, Australian lamb chop and a chicken selection plus a crawfish dish. By the time we had visited the buffet stations twice, my spouse refused an entree (and she loves crab cakes) but they are tapas size so feel free to enjoy. As mentioned you can down as many mimosas and bloody mary's as you want (unless you're driving please) and they're generously poured. Many of the mimosas I saw were but a faint orange color attesting to the ratio of champagne to orange juice.

The atmosphere was very pleasant. We were seated at the lowest dock level next to the boats and in the shady early May afternoon it was extremely nice. Others have commented about car tire noise from the nearby bridge but it was not intrusive at all; the conversations drowned it out but at no time did we have to speak louder than normal volume to hear, so no issue there.

Back to the food... the mussels were pretty dry, the large gulf shrimp were flavorful and succulent, the snow crab legs were - snow crab legs - can't really go wrong. Freshly shucked oysters were spot on as was the oysters Rockefeller. By the way, there is so much from which to choose, only an NFL lineman could sample everything. Skipped the waffle and french toast but the eggs Benedict was serviceable and the andouille sausage and apple smoked bacon was tasty. Didn't make it to the omelet station but it was fully equipped and staffed. The cheeses and bread/pastry offerings were honest and the seafood chowder was thick, tasty and full of seafood. I had a slice of lamb that was chewy and tasteless and left most of it. I saw tenderloin but didn't try it and of course there are other carving station items, plus a pasta station, also left unvisited. I mean, it's the DisneyWorld of food, you just can't do it all in one visit My wife had salmon gravlax (good) and she didn't really enjoy the mussels. She downed a number of oysters and raved about them. So after all this, and the great waterway view of boats churning up and down the Intracoastal, you think you have room for dessert but you are wrong. Three bites in, (I did finish my very petite key lime pie) that was it.

Other issues: no spoons available for dessert dishes, and they were needed. The ladies room had a back up problem when my wife visited and though the staff was busy trying to fix it, dirty water on her shoes and a bad aroma nearly killed the day. It happens so what can you do. At least they were in there working on it. No other complaints. As i said the food was good to very good but nothing to make me rave. Remember this is self serve brunch other than the kitchen fresh petite entree so it's about as good as it will get. The online menu promised king crab legs but none were to be found, a small but noticeable point. Valet parking was efficient and we had a covered spot. You can also park nearby at metered parking but know that LBS meter maids will get you for an expired meter.

Four star brunch, pretty much as expected. You are paying some of that $50 per person fee for the view and setting and endless rounds of mimosas and bloody mary's so given that, it's reasonable for a leisurely (we were there 2 hours) and relaxing brunch.
