“Janet is a sweetheart!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

Our waitress, Janet was an absolute delight. My husband is a little finicky when it comes to food. She talked him into the blackened chicken instead of the grilled---much better choice. The view and the breeze were perfect. Great place for lunch. Thanks again, Janet!

“Great breakfast overlooking the beach...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

I love the view and the food is great, too! An annual visit for us! Both the Cafe' AND the Pier....A MUST for all Lauderdale-by-the-Sea visitors!

“"Go look for yourself"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

I have been there twice recently because of groupons. The first time we sat for over 20 min. without even been given a menu. When a server finally approached we ask for a particular beer, she responded:

"You will have to get up and go over there and look at the beer we have!" she immediately turned and walked away. Nasty. She never came back.
The hostess had just arrived and she served us. The food tasted ok but my partner threw-up after having a burger there both times. The second visit, the server was awesome!! Really nice lady from Eastern Europe, maybe Poland. Will not go back; who wants to risk food poisoning.

“Go when there is nobody there”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

This place is in a great scenic location, is dog friendly, and has a varied menu. We have been there a few times (all on a Groupon). It's the same every time. Pretty good food, horrible service, and overpriced drinks. We ordered the coconut shrimp, which was pretty good. We then ordered the crab cakes with a salad, and the fried chicken. Also had two Pyramid craft beers ($6 each is outrageous). The crab cakes and friend chicken are wonderful, along with the mashed potatoes. The cole slaw is tasty, but its really watery. The girlfriend loved the salad quite a bit. Now, the service: It's two people doing everything. They seem to work really hard, and the girl is very nice, but how in the hell does that place only have two people working the whole floor? It's a travesty, and the manager/owner should be ashamed of himself. Other than that, the food is good, it's overpriced, and I wouldn't ever go without a groupon!
