We have lived in S. Florida for less than a year and have been disappointed by the pizza we've had at the supposedly great places. We saw Carina's and decided to give it a try, and are so glad we did. It doesn't look like much from the outside, just another restaurant in a strip mall, but once inside it is very nice -- tablecloths, nice atmosphere, etc. I was greeted right away by a very friendly hostess/server and she was very gracious as she helped me navigate the menu to order a pizza for takeout. I ordered a large with two toppings and it was less than $20 -- which is less than HALF what we paid for a large and a salad at Coal Mine in Boca. I ran an errand and came back 15 minutes later and the cook recognized me, gave a big smile, and handed over the pizza, which smelled so good the drive home was torture. It was a FANTASTIC pizza -- thin, crisp, perfectly cooked crust, not glopped with too much sauce or drowned in greasy cheese, and the toppings (applewood smoked bacon and artichoke hearts) were generous without being overwhelming. It was so delicious we ate about twice as much as we planned that night, and the next day it was absolutely the best cold slice I've ever had. We're going there again tonight for our new Friday tradition of "Carina's and Coronas." Great pizza, great prices, great people... what's not to love?!
