“Nice & Compact Museum - worth the stop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2011

We have traveled to a few air museums - the husband is a big fan of aviation history and warplanes. This was worth the Sunday trip over to Lakeland with a stop at the Lakeland Airport for a nice lunch. If this is your thing it is worth the highway stop to see it.

“Serious Museum for Aviation Buffs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2011

I enjoyed my visit to the Florida Air Museum- but I am a serious aviation buff. It's an inexpensive hour for the casual tourist passing by.
They have several great, but rare, aircraft on display- and the Howard Hughes exhibit is worth the trip for a serious aviation buff.
The museum seems to be trying to do several things at one time- show the history of Florida Aviation, but still be the Florida home of the EAA, which is the big spring show of the Sun and Fun Fly In.
Pick a mission- and stick to it.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2010

I took a holiday in Florida this spring. Visited Sun 'n' Fun and so took in the museum. Not a great deal going on when one compares the other air museums within 50 miles of Orlando. But this could be my problem, maybe my expectations are too high? More of a library style museum than an exhibition of historic planes.

“A LOT CHEAPER THAN A DAY AT DISNEY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2010

This was a nice air museum with a lot of memorablia on Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose as well as some Lindbergh memorablia. Also had a hangar of planes to look at, a hangar where they restore planes and great gift shop. It is on a small airport.

Look for the coupons to get in and get two-for-one. For adults, that would be $8 for two adults or $6 for two seniors (when you use the coupon).

About 50 minutes from DisneyWorld. What you save for a day you can buy some great souvenirs.
