My family of 4 stayed here twice over the course of a couple months- booked online at the same time. The hotel is old, dated and while the staff is great, the rooms are old. They are replacing old TVs with flat screens, but the beds are terrible- way too bouncy when shared, thin support when not shared. The halls are not air conditioned, there is no elevator (two floors with oversized bags can be difficult for older guests, we had to help an older couple get their bags to the second floor).
The first stay was better than the second one- room 219 had older TV, but AC didn't stink too badly- used Lysol on filter. Second stay was almost too much. Flat screen TV didn't work- maintenance had to replace cable (great maint. guy, BTW) suspected that previous guests had used gaming stations and changed settings. Not my TV, not going to get stuck with fixing it.
The bugs in the tub were dead, the mosquito on the balcony door was hungry. The Bathroom door wouldn't close- drywall screws used to hold the hinges in place.
Now all of that was minor compared to the strong cat urine smell from the AC for the entire stay in room 225. The room was saturated with the smell of urine even with it off. There were no other rooms for a family of 4 but the manager did offer the King bed room and a cot.
We declined it and tried to make it an adventure for the kids. I tried to save a few dollars and it cost me restful sleep and smelly clothing. Manager offered a discount on the next stay, but I think that ship has sailed.
