“Beautiful and relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2011

Bok Tower Gardens is very nice and relaxing. People were sitting down and laying on the ground. Just a very peaceful place. The bells were beautiful. The gardens themselves aren't really gardens so much a view into realllllly old Florida. The tower was built on the highest point of Florida, which was really cool! The visitors center had a great history of Florida (we're talking millions of years, not hundreds!). We both really enjoyed ourselves. It felt a lot smaller than it seemed on the map. We didn't feel it was as good as Sunken Gardens in St. Pete, but it is beautiful in its own right.

“Peaceful Gardens with a Historial Story”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2011

I thought I was just going to see an old historical tower, but was pleasently surprised to find that there was gardens of native Florida to also explore. It has a great information center on the types of plants you will be seeing, and also the chance to purchase some of the plants you will see. It has a great gift shop that offers unique items. For those who don't enjoy or can't do a long walk they offter a tram ride that will take and drop you at key points and will come back to get you. I thought the tower was cool just standing there and looking at it.......however when the music started, I was entranced. The view from the top of the hill (Florida mountain) is fantastic.

“Uncrowded Serenity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2011

My husband and I have lived in central Florida for 37 years and had never visited the Bok Towers Gardens!!! What a mistake! Last Saturday we were looking for something different to do, having "done" Disney literally hundreds of times as well as every other major "Theme" Park in the state. I suggested we head over to Bok Gardens and check it out. One of my better ideas, actually! It isn't huge, there are no thrill rides and it doesn't take an entire day to visit. Ok- those are the things it isn't. What it is is very serene, uncrowded and beautiful. Be sure to watch the 9 minute video in the Visitor's Center to get an overview of how Bok Tower and the Garden's came to be. Be certain to visit the Pinewood Estate Mansion. Enjoy lunch in the immaculate Cafe', and don't ignore the gift shop. Beyond all that, strolling the Gardens and the many patways- both paved and not paved- is wonderful. No one is rushing you and you are able to roam and explore at leisure. We enjoyed it so much that we purchased a Sustainer Pass which will allow us to return for an entire year and bring guests with us to share the beauty of the Gardens. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back for another stroll through the Garden's. Do yourself a favor and visit soon~ you'll be glad that you did!

“You can find a piece of yourself in the garden”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2011

I was not sure what to expect upon arriving at Bok Tower and I was very plesantly surprised. History and beauty come together here. the gardens are kept beautifully. Even in the heat of summer so much was in bloom! Walking the many trails you can experience exotic as well as Florida native plants. There were many birds, turtles and other local species to enjoy. If you are a flower or bird lover, or a history buff - this place is for you! The design and history of the Pinewood Estate is remarkable - and at Christmas this place comes alive with spirit! The cafe serves up wonderful meals and the gift shop is one of the best I have seen in Florida, offering something for all ages.
