“GREAT PLACE TO STAY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2010

We stayed here with family. We had 6 rooms. The staff is very pleasent. Judy Brown is the best employee they have. I would stay here again in a heart beat. Very clean hotel. The food was good. Happy hour makes it worth the money it's self. Thank you for making our stay in Lake City FL great.

Good place to stay for a reasonable price. Wish we had been able to stay longer as the pool looked delicious. Room was clean and comfortable. Not the Ritz Carlton, but did not expect that for the price. The evening "happy hour" was excellent, and the hot, generous breakfast would cost 20.00 if you went to a waffle house. Lots of stores and places to eat within 3 minutes.

On the spur of the moment, I needed to book two rooms for our trip down to Siesta Key, FL. I found this place online and called directly to book. They were having a remodeling special and we got the rooms for $59 each. This price included free keg beer and wine during the lobby/poolside happy hour. It also included free breakfast. It was not a continental breakfast, but the whole nine yards. You'd think you were at the Marriott!!! Eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits-N-sausage, waffles, cereal, milk, orange juice.....etc.

The motel is older but well maintained and clean. The front office is in a separate building, then the pool separates the lobby from the rooms. The rooms are located in a very long two story building with doors opening from the outside. My husband and I slept well and we thought the beds were comfortable. However, the pillows seemed smaller than normal. Our friends said their beds weren't very comfortable to them.

The poolside happy hour was a blast. Everyone was having a great time and we met lots of nice people (mostly families) on their way down south for vacation. It was very family oriented and the kids all played and splashed around in the pool. We were there on a Friday, so maybe weekdays aren't as much fun.

The Cabot Lodge also has several security guards that walk the areas. They are serious about safety and patrol all the time! We felt very safe here.

For the price we paid, we got excellent value. If we had gone to a local bar for drinks and breakfast the next morning, we would have spent a lot more!!

Was a bit disappointed upon arrival our room was musty smelling and the bathroom appeared to have not been cleaned well from the previous stay. We did have a dog room and even though we did, i expected it to be better than it was. MY sister in- law without a dog room was happy with her room except for the truck traffic noise at night

For an older hotel, it has been maintained and updated well. HOWEVER, the beds were not changed! Very hard hard hard and uncomfortable! We did not try the breakfast. Way to crowded in the lobby and could not get in. The room was clean but did not have enough towels or wash clothes for 4 people. When in area again, we will pick a different hotel.

We stopped here for one night while en route to central Florida. We used a coupon from a coupon book that we found at the Florida Welcome Center at the border with GA. For about $60 we had a clean room, comfortable beds, friendly staff, and hot breakfast. Parking available in front of room so it is easy to load and unload suitcases. Easy on and off interstate. Only negative was a loud loud loud rental truck that had problems backing up at 3:30 a.m., which was not the fault of the hotel. We would definitely use again.
