“What did he smell?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

We stay in Hampton Inn frequently. Heading south and being tired, night closing in, we were happy to see a Hampton Inn along the interstate on October 5th. This hotel was very clean, and appeared to be new, Reading here, it appears to have gone through some renovation. I do believe the check in clerk needs a personality adjustment. His attitude appeared to us to be very condescending. When we requested a smoking room, he acquired the look folks get when they smell something bad.

Room Tip: check your attitude response at the door, or the clerk could aggravate your night.

There must have been a baseball tournament going on as the hotel was full of teenagers. I asked for a quiet room on a higher floor and got one. The breakfast was average. I called for a reservation a few hours before arrival and all things considered I think they did a great job. I would have given them a 5 rating but I could not have used the pool with the games going on and the crowd of kids running around....not really a big deal for me.

One of the newly decorated Hampton Inns. One of the better ones I have ever been. Great location, rigtht off the highway. Hotel staff very helpful. Rooms are very clean. Plenty of restaurants around the hotel.

Clean, modern, and the staff was bright and helpful.
We stopped there because it was the most highly rated in Lake City, and it was thoroughly deserving of the rating.
The breakfast was average, but what we would have expected.
Price a little high.

This Hampton is clean and well-maintained. The outside pool looks very clean although I did not swim in it but it looks like they taking good care of it. This was a convenient stop over for a trip to Visit the Stephen Foster Folk Cultural Ctr., State Park in White Springs.

The staff were fabulous very helpful and proactive about my needs. Suggested good places to eat locally rather than just the chains.

My only negative is that like a lot of motels in this city it is right on the highway and therefore a bit noisy which is why I rate the sleep quality as average. Actually the bed was very comfortable. You can avoid that part by requesting a room away from the highway end of the building.

Room Tip: Rooms are on floors two through five recommend the rooms ending in 08 through 13 . These are at the...

Rooms clean, bathroom clean, breakfast was good and staff was friendly and accomodating. I would recommend this hotel. Price was higher than other hotels in the area, but having stayed at other hotels in the area, the price was worth it.

My honey and I were on a short road trip to go hiking in the Great Smokey Mountains. Coming from South Florida and wanting to stay away from major highways as much as we could, this hotel fit the bill, as it was about 1/2 way between our home and our destination. The room was clean, the hotel was quiet, the staff was friendly.

If in the area and you're looking for a quiet, clean hotel, this is your place. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We always ask for a room on a high floor and away from the elevator
