“Great Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014

Three of us, me, husband, son spent one night prior to visiting Disney. I was nicely surprised by the quality of the bedding: nice mattress, pillows and linens - very comfortable. The room was clean 7 furniture in good condition. Included microwave coffeemaker & frig. Breakfast was more than adequate: eggs (sort of - little round disks), sausage, waffles, bagels buscuits, juice coffee yogurt, fruit. We were delighted with our stay & will come back again.

The hotel was everything you'd expect of a Quality Inn: the rate was great for the Disney World area, the rooms were older but clean, and a limited hot breakfast was served each day (scrambled eggs, sausage and waffles). The two main reasons we chose the hotel though was for the rate, and because it offered a free shuttle to the Disney World and Universal Studios resorts. They failed to mention that the shuttle basically only picks up twice a day for Disney and once for Universal. And it only picks up twice from those attractions as well. This made for some very, very crowded trips on the way home that I'm quite sure were carrying an illegal number of people. They will literally cram every last soul onto the bus they can, and since the shuttle drivers can't seem to leave on time, more and more people continue to show up and shove their way onto the bus. On our second night we boarded the shuttle on time at 9:40. We didn't leave for at least 45 min, and did not make it back to the hotel until after midnight thanks to the driver adding guests to the shuttle whose hotel was not originally on the route and getting so confused on where he was supposed to go that he even drove to a hotel where no one was staying. One night we were so tired of fighting the shuttle we simply got a cab ride back to the hotel.

If we ever go back, we are staying at a resort in Disney World. It's simply not worth the hassle, frustration or danger of riding an overcrowded bus to save a few bucks.

This hotel has seen better days but I also would not hesitate to bring my family here if I needed a great value. It has all the amenities one would need. Only go though if you want to be near a lot of kids. the staff was very pleasant and the location is great. Lots within just walking distance. Not the cleanest hotel (probably due to its age) but for the price it is a great value. Just be able to overlook the small things.

Quality Inn really is a good value. The cleaning people did a good job each day, service at the front desk was decent, nothing wonderful. In the lobby there's free filtered water all day & night, you can get juices & coffee in the breakfast area through the day & night, as well. The rooms are clean & pretty updated. There's a Samsung TV in each room that's probably 32 inches, you also get a mini fridge & microwave. The continental breakfast is decent, sausage & eggs, bananas (if you get there early!), oranges, juice, milk, coffee, some cereals, toast, muffins, waffles. They're pretty serious about you staying in the breakfast dining area, which annoys me. There are a lot of people there each morning & I dealt with enough screaming kids & crowds while navigating through Disney World.

Cons:

The shuttle buses! We came to Orlando strictly for Disney. We didn't want to pay the $15 per day parking cost to drive ourselves to Disney, so I booked this hotel because it offers a shuttle that's included in the hotel price. The shuttle SUCKS. Our last morning there the driver exceeded the allowed amount on the bus, people were shoved on top of each other because literally all the seats were full but the driver kept picking people up. He had about 30-40 people standing in the AISLE when there aren't even poles to hold on to or straps to hold on to. I think it's illegal but he did it anyway. It was very unsafe. The shuttles are late a lot of times. Also, when they come to pick you up to take you to Disney OR to pick you up from Disney (picking you up to take you back to your hotel is the worst), you are NOT guaranteed a spot on the bus! They will leave you if they are too full! & they're often VERY FULL! Be mindful of that. It's stressful. The first night we took the shuttle back to our hotel we were pushed & shoved & pulled so bad that my husband starting yelling at people to get back from us. He never does that, but they were nearly trampling us because they all wanted on the bus & didn't care. It's nerve-wracking, which is why I'm stressing to you to consider paying to stay in a Disney resort. Next time we come we are going to. If you are **military** (we are), the Shades of Green resort ON Disney property is fantastic! We didn't see that resort until a friend told me about it after we'd booked our hotel room already. But it's very affordable & you are on Disney property so you get the shuttles & all the perks.

Other cons:

It's a major pet peeve of mine to have the bathroom sink outside of the bathroom! I hate that! These rooms have the toilet & shower in one room with the door while the sink is separate.

The wall a/c & heat unit is a typical wall unit...crappy. But it does get the job done, just loudly.

Honestly, overall I rate this a 3.5. I don't really want to stay here again, but it is very decent for what you're paying. I was able to mostly relax here, which is tough for me because I despise staying in hotels.

Room Tip: If you're going to *DISNEY WORLD* & want to stay at this hotel because it offers the FREE SH...

Booked this hotel after reading lots of reviews on trip advisor and found it was okay for the price. We used it in order to go to Disney World and figured we'd use the shuttle since we didn't have a car. About $75 to get there from the Orlando airport so a bit of a ways! Staff friendly and breakfast had some hot options but was the same each day with round pancakes of egg and sausages and waffles or toast as hot options. Dinky pool in back of hotel and room was clean-ish. It included a microwave, humming fridge and safe. There is a sticker on the safe which says payment for use of it is optional but the front desk said it was $1.50/day. It was locked when we arrived and it never did get opened. Sink didn't drain properly and decor is dated. Lots of restaurants around and we enjoyed the Wild Side pub and found a pizza place that had 3 medium pizzas for $12 or a buffet for $7.

A bit about the shuttle...It left for Magic Kingdom at 7am and stopped at several other hotels after this one so the shuttle was full by the time it got to the last hotel causing some frustration among those left still waiting. It took about 45 min to get to Magic Kingdom so a bit of a milk run. One evening we waited for a 9:30 shuttle at Epcot but it never came and we waited until after 10:15 for the next one. So we took it in the mornings and taxied back in the evenings (about $30 depending on which area of Disney you were in). There are a bunch of Quality Inns so careful you don't make the mistake we did and wind up on the one on E192 instead of W192 that the taxi driver swore he knew the location. I am guessing it is about a 20min+ drive to Magic Kingdom and a bit closer to go to Epcot.

I think you need to decide if you are willing to be further from Disney and deal with some transportation or shuttle hassles for a cheaper price, or be closer to Disney and pay more.

Room Tip: It is back off main highway 192 so not too noisy. Probably best to be off first floor near eating a...

My husband and I stayed here the weekend of December 14, 2013. It was very easy to get to and it was extremely close to Disney World. The room was in good shape, clean, and very spacious. The hotel looked well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was just icing on the cake! We will definitely stay here again when looking for an inexpensive off-site hotel for the Disney parks.

For the money we paid, the inn is excellent. The location is very convenient: near to the Disney Parks and stone's throw from good eateries. The rooms were clean and made up well everyday (I even left a good tip in the envelop that the mail left on my desk!). The breakfast was decent but the serving area was rather crowded. I was even able to take a printout of by flight's boarding pass (thos saving about $30 that the airline charges).

It is a value-for-money for the budget traveler who is not expecting a resort treatment.
